Thanks George. I honestly thought about this when I made the video, but decided to use ribose generally as deoxyribose is a ribose variant. But you are absolutely correct that DNA contains deoxyribose and RNA contains ribose. Cheers.

Thank you so much for the work you do! Just... you make me feel... whole and welcomed... like I'm part of something that I've never been a part of in my whole life.
It's great that you mentioned where each saccharide is found and this was very helpful!
Glad I could help.
Thank you so much. This was so helpful. Getting many information only in 2 minutes is really everything for us.
Glad it was helpful!
what is the difference between disaccharides and polysaccharides ?
Disaccharides are a combination of two monosaccharides and polysaccharides are a combination of multiple monosaccharides (usually three or more)
Love the video but at 1:03 the narrator says ribose helps form DNA.He should have said deoxyribose helps form DNA.
Thanks George. I honestly thought about this when I made the video, but decided to use ribose generally as deoxyribose is a ribose variant. But you are absolutely correct that DNA contains deoxyribose and RNA contains ribose.

I caught that too. I will have to stop and tell my students that part is not correct.
Ribose helps duplicate dna using rna maybe that’s what he meant?
This video was so helpful! You do a great job of boiling down the basics so I understand the concepts. Thanks!

Very informative, thank you.
You are welcome 🤠
Thanks for this video!
What happened to the Hydrogen and Oxygen if we add 2 monosaccharide resulting to the molecular formula of disaccharide ?
Forms a glycosidic bond between the monosaccharides with one of the oxygens and forms water with the remaining oxygen and two hydrogens.
Congrats for your 100k subs!❤️
Great work..can you plz make a video on glycosidic linkage?
Great topic, I'll look into it.

Very great sir thanks these two min. Saved time thx
This video is so helpful to understand. But, why there's no maltose? Could you add some examples for polysaccharides?
Why is there the show up of ring structures
