Greed and money are destroying amateur athletics and in my opinion is not good for college sports. The inflated self-worth of so many athletes and coaches are ruining great sport traditions. I love college sports more than professional, but at some point, I can see myself losing interest in supporting too many entitled athletes and coaches at too high a cost.
College athletics is not amateur and hasn’t been for a long time. Things definitely need to be figured out so college athletics isn’t as chaotic as it is right now but changes desperately needed to be made from the old rules.
@@nathansharp9879 Of course changes need to be made. And you are correct that college sports like football and basketball haven't been purely amateur for a long time due to cheating that regularly has occurred. But that doesn't excuse that behavior! The NCAA hasn't helped either because of their inconsistent actions. I think BYU has approached NIL and this issue in the appropriate way by seeking to benefit the entire team rather than just a few stars, but it's a real challenge that is out of control right now with how the transfer portal is working.
Appreciate the suggestion(s). When it’s a show that’s all self-run I can’t guarantee anything. Already have enough to do as host & producer at the same time. We will see what happens down the line.

Keba Keita is not the starting answer for BYU at Center. I prefer Fouss over Keita for their role. Even better will be a taller center who can shoot the ball. Keba is like Tiki Ali TIki, who fouls too much and cant shoot. I hope Coach Young has better plans and options.
Not only did BYU say the number is not 4.2 million they also stated unequivocally on the record that no outside people/sources are paying any part of KY's salary. If you know differently tell us exactly who those "boosters" are for the record and show where the BYU Spokes person was wrong in that D News article you cited. You are out over your ski's on this one.
@michcoug,I agree with you on this. I cannot understand why a lot of sports reporters think that they know more about what is going on at BYU than anyone at BYU. Like you state in your comments,if there are any so called boosters, then they should be specifically cited and how much they are donating. And I agree with many of you about the status of college sports. I think it has gotten to the point where NIL and the constant transferring of athletes every year that have just ruined everything.
@@samuelpike1248 and IF those donors chose to remain anonymous as part of their donations, which is their right, do you think BYU or the Church would state otherwise? 🤔
@dirkpalmer1067 I believe they would, I don't think they would lie about everything like the rest of the world thinks they do. Too many sports casters should cite their sources, and then those sources,if credible of course, should be fact-checked.
Thanks for the show I enjoy getting to know byu sports. this last year, I’ve been listening regularly ❤
What a great time to be a Coug!

You should stop watching now to save yourself the pain. Its now gonna get any better. 😂😂😂

Can we get some video highlights and clips as you talk? Great thanks.

If Keba had a jumpshot, he'd be a solid NBA prospect. If he could shoot 40% from three, he'd be a lottery pick.
BYU made it to the Elite 8 with Danny Ainge.
Notre Dame Game anyone? Lost to Ralph Sampson's Virginia?
They did. The point was they haven’t made it past that to the Final Four.

If this payout is for P4/P5 schools, shouldn't BYU only pay for one year of being a P4/P5 program?
I have yet to see clarification exempting BYU from the payments…it’d be great if they were!

He's small. 6' 8" won't work.
Another undersized big...
How many spots are open? How many 7' are available?
You're up late

Many reputable sources have reported the salary and Ryan Smith's/Danny Ainge fingerprints all over it.
Start there for $ource.

@samuelpike1248 well, as we know, they're not required to. And normally when not required ...
