At this point in the story, do we already know that C.B. / Caboose is secretly devious? Is this scene supposed to trick the audience further into believing he's a genuinely nice guy, before he sings about what he's really like in act 2, or is there something else going on? (Hope you don't mind a question from out of the blue from someone who only knows a little about Starlight Express but thinks it's a really cool musical!)
