  • One of the biggest struggles many drivers have is qualifying. This is something that I always struggled with as well. It wasn't until I learned these simple key tips that I started to qualify at the front of the pack. Comment any tips that you guys have for qualifying better.

Thank you. Also keeping in mind where the finish line is. If it's very close to the last turn, on the outlap hitting a very late apex to carry maximun speed into the start, then on the hotlap braking as late as possible to save time on that last corner (having almost no straight after it, it's not as detrimental to time).
If the finish line is in the middle or end of a straight then of course priority is fast exit and max speed out of that last turn

I can't agree more with the fact that there are a lot of drivers who are driving the same with new tires like they do with old ones. Personally, I prefer to do flying lap alone but there are circuit where drag is super important and that is not possible. Nice vid, a lot of good information!

Hey Ryan, great vid! My son is in Micros out here is California and we are using your videos as our lessons to learn how to get faster in karting. He is 9 and we are racing the Los Angeles Karting Championship and Tti-C karters Championships. He is improving every race. Do you have any info regarding young racers and the equipment/gear they should run vs. others? Thank you!

Hello Ryan, Can you make a video where you talk about where to put your hands on the wheel. I am curious why it is important to keep your hands further up the wheel and mostly because I have a bad habit I feel like of keeping my hands further down the wheel and I feel like that scrubs a lot of speed sometimes just with where my hands are. Thank you

Now try qualifying with used tires doped with CitraSolv - you get approximately 45 seconds of new-tire performance once they are warm and then they fall right off a cliff.

Oil your chain when you get back to the pit and then drink lots of water and snack. Maybe stretch before races and try relax your everything down the straights
