It was a surprise but it was also the ultimate mind test for Shasha when she put herself into the highest pressure from all directions and she still calmly got out of it.
I don't get it. I don't see any difference in Shasha's game in the first two sets and the following three sets. Yet, there must have been something drastic judging by the score. Did anyone notice what exactly Shasha changed in her game?

Besides, it looks she began to return heavy incoming backspin with simple underspin to the left corner. Less agressive, more reliable game with longer rallies. As a result, Ying Han could not endure longer rallies running corner to corner, could not counteratack anymore, only defended.
With 2-0 leading against all other top Chinese women, Ying would have won the match. Sun is just a different animal with a set of superior skill and power coupled with great mental strength. The next 5 years, the world is Sun's playground.

Вместо навесных накидушек начала вваливать плотные силовые топсы, и не раскидывая по всему столу (дал чуть слабее вправо - можно получить плотный перехват), а конкретно на шипы по двум направлениям: в карман, в карман, затем косо. Стратегию по защите она понимает получше многих мужиков (вон Уго Филусу залег чисто потому что не смог игру по шипам построить), проблема у женщин в том, чтобы физухи хватило на реализацию, потому что запил приходит сильный, а когда сдвинул защитника в середину - в открытый угол надо не крутить, а вколачивать. Она показала, что не просто хватает, а запас есть. В пятой партии бомбила сильнее, чем в первой, другие по защите уставать начинают, а она только разогррелась 😅

What really happened, as far as I can tell, is Han got caught under the pressure and her game worsened.

The last 3 sets were pretty consistent (11-3, 11-4, 11-4). Either SYS figured Han out or something happened to Han.
