Iam sorry but I have doubt. The way u r doing it, it is just basically that we are using our efforts ECDIS data for plotting our pstn. But we are not sure whether ECDIS data is correct or not. In that case there is no point in doing manual plotting, rather GPS fixing would be better. On the other hand I think so we should take range and bearing from RADAR or visually and then enter it manually in ECDIS for getting manual position. I have had this doubt for a long time and I would be very happy if you could clarify it. Thankyou
