I saw Celtic Frost with Exodus & Anthrax on the Among The Living tour in Dallas on December 19, 1987. That was a real facemelter of a show. IIRC, Scott & Charlie from Anthrax came out and joined in on Procreation of the Wicked to close Frost's set.
If you liked this one, you need to check "Dethroned Emperor", for sure. And if you like to discover more Swiss bands: Coroner is a must. But you really need to start from the first album and go from there, so you can see how they evolved their style through the years. It's fascinating. Plus, a fun fact: Tom Warrior sang on their very first EP.
I saw CF on their To Mega Therion tour back in 85 in Philadelphia. Avant Garde Metal we called it. Celtic Frost doesn't a lot of the credit for being a heavy influence on extreme metal back in the early 80's. Hellhammer too. Tom G Warrior is a Metal god and RIP Martin Ain. Fun stuff.
Merciful Fate/KD, Celtic Frost, Exodus, Slayer, Metal Church, WASP, Maiden, Priest, Venom, Motor Head are just some of the great late 70s to late 80a music I grew up listening to. Great time to be a kid. I only wished I grew up in LA to see many of these bands live in their prime.
Love the Frosties ❤ Saw them in Manchester (UK) on the tour for Into the Pandemonium (that starts with Mexican Radio). They were awesome! Supported by Kreator (also great). Frosties called themselves “Avant-Guarde metal”
one thing is sure, we are in the same generation glenn, i was listening to the same bands in 1986, slayer anthrax, d.r.i..destruction, metal church, king diamond, etc,, cool you find this one,,, a blast from the past,,🤘🤘🤘

I was just going to suggest Coroner.
Divine Step (Conspectu Mortis) would be a good entry.

Celtic frost before was name
Hellhammer this was insane
Obituary recorded a fantastic cover of this, on their Cause of Death LP
Which was actually the first time I had heard that song, only after that discovered CF.
RIP Martin
Procreation Of The Wicked is the best.
The only thing better than Celtic Frost is Triptykon.
