I’ve been through it all, and I saw them 5 times and I cried like a banshee when Chester passed like many others I LOVE EMILY 🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻 She’s an amazing vocalist, she’s carrying his legacy forward for new generations. This is not a replacement, it’s a new era, she’s found her place in the group and she’s KILLING IT with the old songs. I can’t wait for new music and this song is an absolute BANGER

I'm 42 and from the original group of Linkin Park fans, and I love Emily and the new songs! It brings me back to the first 3 albums! Chester was great and not replaceable, but I was always a Linkin Park fan and not a Chester fan. I seen them live with Chester like 4 or 5 times and can't wait to see Emily with the band!
I love the "origin story" of the new lineup. They didn't set out to come back, they wanted to spend time together, they'd grown apart since Chester passed, and they decided they missed being together and working together, so they got together to make music - along that track, they'd invited a number of friends to join them and jam. Some of the musicians they were working with sounded like Chester, could match his sound - but the band didn't vibe with them - when they were playing with Emily and Colin (Mike mentioned Rob was already pulling away before Chester passed, and likely would have left the band even without the tragedy) that it felt like they were playing as LP, they loved the synergy and feel, and the sound. They decided to try some new material, recorded, and now they're touring, because it felt right, they were having fun, and they loved what they were creating. So here we are - Emily sounds good on the old songs live, but she sings them in her own style, rather than emulating Chester, still respecting the original material. Some may not approve or appreciate, but Mike's words and the name of his band didn't need to die with a guy they hired to sing those songs (NO disrespect to Chester, he was a one in a billion talent, if he was still around, nobody would be taking his job - Emily is a good fit with the band, but she's not a replacement for the irreplaceable)

You can't be a fan if you only support them when they make music YOU like. Artists that change and evolve are truly talented. Johnny Cash, The Beatles, hell even LP changed as they grew and music as a whole is better for it. If you only support something when it suits you, then you're not a true fan. I will always miss Chester and prefer his voice on all the old songs, but I absolutely love Emily in these new tracks. It still feels like linkin park, can’t wait for the album. So happy to have them back. I do understand why some people are having a hard time with it.

Bro, Many people hated “Minutes to Midnight”, “A Thousand Suns”, “Living Things”, “The Hunting Party”, “One More Light” for different reasons. I am surprised with some of the hate you got for this reaction. A reaction is your own thing. I love LP and follower LP before they were Linkin Park and before Chester. I have fortunate to have seen them live a lot of times. I remember Chester being very raw in the beginning and saw him develop into an the goat vocalist for me. A little known fact is Chester actually didn't prefer the heavier stuff. He liked the more rocker STP sound. The LP sound of the 1st two albums were more influenced by Mike's rap passion and Mark original singer who was into metal. Hybrid Therory was mostly written by Mike and Mark with contributions of the rest of the members.
Chester was Chester, and Emily is Emily...each one of them is unique and equally great. It doesn't make sense to me to compare one to another, or argue who's better, that depends on our individual preferences.
