This is the Anthem for Worlds 2018, but it's actually a representation of the path Ambition and team Samsung Galaxy took to win Worlds 2017 the previous year. Beat Perkz and G2 in groups, survived coming second in groups to Uzi and RNG (that's why he gets hit and moves on) then beat Faker and SKT in the finals. Using 3 weapons to represent his main champions of the tournament; Kha'zix, Sejuani and Jarvan IV.
Ambition was one of the oldest pro players at the time and finally won his first championship. When I watched this and his face was revealed at the end with the Samsung Galaxy logo I got crazy chills realising that it had been telling his story the whole time.
That first 'RISE' drop ALWAYS gets me, and then it just builds. LOVE IT! It's funny that you say it's a workout song, this is what I listened to, non-stop, when I was climbing out of a deep depression by hitting the gym relentlessly. Excellent job as always sir!!! Love it+
So this World video is seeped in Esports details but here's the deal: it depicts the journey of one of the world’s most famous players Kang “Ambition” Chan-yong (main character you follow) who won the tournament in 2017 along with his team Samsung Galaxy. During his climb, Kang uses some of the weapons of his most played champions at the tournament and faces off with other famous players from 2017 tournament, first fight is G2 Esports’ Luka “Perkz” Perković as Yasuo and second fight is Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao as Vayne. Once he finally reaches the summit, Kang faces off against the final test, SKT1 Faker playing Ryze, and wins.
The environments feature old team banners, champions and, at the end, the circle of statues have logos of all the teams that have won Worlds (which after he beats Faker, Samsung's logo is added to a statue). Then the last shots are showing other players on their own climbs, including Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, and the defeated Uzi.
Not sure if anyone has answered your question about who won in 2018 but it was Invictus gaming who took home the cup they were also the first Chinese team to take home the trophy as before this Korea was the main dominant contenders in worlds having a Korean team win it all from 2013 to 2017,3 of these wins were from a single team known as SK Telekom T1 and they came really close to pulling off 3 straight worlds wins in a row but that dream was shattered by another korean team called samsung galaxy who defeated them 3-0 in the finals the MVP of 2017 worlds is the protagonist of this video named Ambition. He and Faker the player at the end of the video have a long history as rivals going all the way back to Fakers debut in 2013 when Ambition was still a mid laner so having been able to finally conquer the mountain that is Faker and SKT was an incredible moment in League history

this, i think, plus pop stars, really solidified riot and fortiche's signature art style, translated to arcane too, u really cant find anything else that looks like moving paintings. spider verse is close, but something just sets them apart, and good lord fortiche is always on crack

God 2018/2019/2020 was an awesome time for league imo, just some huge releases and events happening, what a time
also this entire song is a microcasm of the previous worlds and each person was a player the climber had to fight through and their persona was one of their key characters. The entire song is one of the players climbing the summit of other top players to reach the peak and challenge the reigning champion and succeeding only to now be the peak that others will climb to.
If you're digging these songs and dare to delve into more metal songs, League of Legends also has Pentakill. I suggest Mortal Reminder as your starting entry if you feel so bold.

During the finals opening ceremony they had the guy perform live and it was terrible. Everyone hated it and it didn't sound nowhere near the recorded version
Funny thing, the Big blue bald guy is called Ryze and pronounced similarly as the the word rise, and he has been one of the oldest champions in League of Legends. The book and scroll that the glasses guy had are what Ryze carries with him
I am always guessing here but i am fairly sure they drew famous players of the game as their favorite characters, well more like with their gear

Well why frustration, i know that we have players who take it to serious and are toxic but i just dont look atthe chat you just have to find the position you like the most and champions you like its good too know what other champs can do becuse than you can be like "i know what you do too me now", and yes there are champs witch have harder to lern mechanics but also the ones like (in my opinion the easiest to play) Ziggs witch you dont have to think and you score, i treate it like relax, one ore two match after work gaves me chill. Its fun. When you are in the game play and after score few times hear "A LEGEND!". ".....no heroeas and villains....." they also always have good lyrics.. And Yes they have newe theme song for every season of profesionall games.Hear there aare players in the video animations like in the begining when he rise you see flags of different teams, and they have wepon of champs they play. But you know all this i know this is old video XD. But no i never feel like i am the worst because some champs are harder to play i dont have t know mechanics of them all, and Rise is one of my faves League song.

You should react to Take Over, for me it's the best league of legends song and it's not even close.

If i can make a suggestion, a group by the name of Falconshield has a series of league rap cyphers called "this is war" the 7th one just came out today, the series has a rough start but only gets better as it goes on and i would highly reccomend you give it a listen
A bit late here, but. Just in case you didnt hear live version, you should check it. Not worth doing react, imo, but at stage (spoiler, rapping guy wasnt in hist best condition) that RISE scream at the end.. Is next level. Damn gold of a voice.
I believe those small arrows are more useful for sneak attacks but shooting an enemy from the start might help the experienced gauge the opponent's level of skill if they dodge it, block it or their level of equipment if they can just shrug it off ... not like i know anything of what i am talking about, theorising is easy
