Shelley Charging he will be missed dearly very thankful I got to sit with Bill a few times before his passing a great man and an ever greater singer. And Harvey Charging is a legend have two of his roachs he made the one in my pic is actually one I’ve had for Long time. Both great mentors and better people.
Wow this is a treasure of songs. I had this on cassette during my time overseas service in Navy 83-87. Helped me get through times being away. These were the top drum group back in the day. Go-witz.......
I wanted to say how happy I am to see all the listens and comments! Happy to share this tape with you all. This was my introduction into Native American music, as this tape belonged to my grandmother who passed away many years ago. She played it for me at a young age and it left a great impression. I searched high and low for years looking for it in storage (as it was given to me after she passed) and finally came upon it a few years back. I decided to rip and share it as it was such an important recording in my personal life and I am very happy to see its importance and impact echoed in the comments here.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of the old cassette tape (perhaps converted to disc) of the Eagle Whistles where the cover of the tape I believe was green and it had each of the singers pictures in small oval frames arranged in a circular fashion? These old songs rock over any modern day singing. The old style is the shit.

The only other Native music tape I have is another Eagle Whistles. Live at Crow Fair 1999. It is still in print and available via Indian House, which is where I purchased mine. Since it is sill in print, I would not feel comfortable uploading. I used to have this cassette. It was really good powwow tape. I don’t know what happened to it.
