    The other reason I used grips is to protect the actual camera -- grip + hand strap = extra absorption against any impact.

    If you choose the Neewer version, you won't have the silver buttons or any third-party logo on your battery grip. However, I opted for the MEIKA because I prefer the silver buttons. I've experimented with numerous third-party batteries, and the Baxxtar Pro (red batteries) from Germany has proven to be the best for me, boasting German quality. 📸

    nice review! Can you charge the batteries - with the grip attached - by plugging in the camera body, the same way you can without a grip? Sounds silly, but that saves me using a charger ever. USB-C all the things!

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! If i remember correctly i was able to charge it while it was attached. But don’t take that for the end all be all answer lol. But i believe so!

    Battery grip is a great thing. I have one on my sony a 7 ii. Yes, in 2020 I still shoot with my sony a 7 ii and just sometimes a rent a 7 iii just because of 120fps. It might be I picky thing, but it feels like it isn't sterdy enough even when it's tightly mounted to the camera. I can slightly move grip from camera body when i push it a little bit. Did you ever have the same preblem?

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think I may have noticed that but only when I didn’t have it seated all the way on the camera before I screwed it in. But I can’t say I did otherwise. Also no shade for an a7ii in 2020 hahaha I almost bought it when I bought my a7iii and the only reason i didn’t was internal 4k. Great camera!

    Another great video!!
    I used Meke battery grip on my Nikon D800 in the past ... it nearly fried my sensor.
    I need one on my cameras as I like them to just be larger. Feel better in hand overall but one bad experience and I'm very cautious to buy one of them again .... I need to buy new Sony camera just for photography side this spring and this will be the biggest decision I will have to make in my pro life .... Meke or 5 x more expensive Sony :(

    I have that issue where one battery is draining before the other, once it’s dead the grip doesn’t not work at all. So how could we manage how the batteries will be drained ?

    i own 5 sony cameras with plenty of genuine Sony batteries as well as some generic ones. This gives me less than 5 minutes of functionality until I get that dreaded hellish " battery incompatible error". I have only seen a few people with this issue, but it renders this piece of kit completely pointless. Can anyone offer a solution? It seems odd that it consistently pegs out after around 5 minutes on any camera. I've tried it inA7sii, A7rii, A7ii!! and always the same issue. Bizarre. Any help gratefully received.

      Anson & Co. smallrig cage for my a6400 and rode wireless go mic. For doing stand up that wireless mic comes in great to get my words clear for the shows

    • @Ansonandco
      @Ansonandco  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How do you like the go? I am timid to get it cause it’s so obvious you are wearing it. Are you able to conceal like a normal lav mic?

    • @TheRealRVC
      @TheRealRVC 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anson & Co. i like it so far. I don’t use a lav yet but i need one. I just use the go directly i clip it underneath my tee shirt on my tank top. No one ever notices it it works out pretty well my video i did recently on my page called stage time at Carmela i used the lav mic the whole time if you wanna hear the quality.
