I have a severe retention problem. The best method I learned for my particular case is to read the first and last lines in a paragraph, and then the middle. I found I enjoy reading more and retain 50-75 % more. 👍😁
I will add this to my current technique to read/comprehend faster which is wear a bucket hat to cut out visual distractions from eyes and listen to brown noise while reading to cut out audio distractions
You are awesomely Kind. I read your book Limitless twice. I learnt so much but just Tried your suggestions about reading faster. Surprised!! I liked this new way. Not I loved it. Sharing your knowledge freely is a big Blessing for you. Thank you from an elderly folk from very very Cold London in UK ❤❤❤❤❤
"This video is truly helpful and time-saving. I tried applying the speed reading technique with Visual Pacer, and the results were genuinely impressive. Thank you to the creator of this video for sharing this valuable knowledge. What's fantastic is that we don't have to work harder; we just need to apply the technique correctly and save a significant amount of time. Very grateful for this sharing!"
Using the Natural reader app... There, you can copy and paste the entire text and activate the subtitles. The important point is that a line appears and the application highlights the word it is currently passing over, you focus more because just as it's said in the audio our eyes fixate on what moves. Plus, your hands stay free. But of course, this only works for books or content in digital format.
Back then in elementary school, my parents took me to my head teacher, they told her I couldn't read then she took the mantle of teaching me how to read. At first i was a slow reader plus i always use my index finger to follow and read out the line i was reading, but unfortunately that woman (the head teacher) beat ths shit out of me for reading while using my finger to point out what i was reading... Long story short, i was flogged my way out of reading with my finger pointing at the text... But here i am in an aha moment 😅
To prevent backskip, I put my finger on the left side of the page as a mark of the lines I already read, and most of the time I only move it by paragraph or after a few lines. Sometimes line by line but only when I need to look for something specifically. IMO moving your fingers along the words is very distracting as an adult now.
you can use the mouse. besides, if you read on your phone, you can use a small plastic thing such as the final of the pen as a pacer, and then use your finger to scroll to move to the next page
WHAT? Okay maybe I'm missing something. I've been speed reading since childhood, and using your finger to do it? Nope. Does he mean this is a way for some to begin to learn how then?
Jim: ..one of the challenges we have when we read is we backskip. Interviewer: Backskip?! What Does that even mean, Jim?? Jim: We reread words. Interviewer: Aaaaooh... Me: Ahaaaaaaaaaaoooh!
Why would anyone read faster? This is the worst advice I have ever heard. I want to read slow and carefully so that I can absorb every word and sentence as it is written. I have read some thousand books in my years - I’m 71 now - and will continue to read as part of my education and entertainment. I strongly advise you to ignore this destructive method as worthless and counterproductive.
My reading is so slow and I'm so grateful for this. but will I now need to be dependent on using my my finger to read or will you naturally just become a faster reader from this? Thank you for all you do Jim!
Which book are you reading now?

I have done this and noticed I read faster and comprehend more. I felt like something was wrong for me for needing to use my finger 😂.
This is awesome! Thank you Jim!

it really works, i`ve been experiencing it.
I've tried it, but for as often as I read I don't want my arm to be worn out because I am using a pacer for hours at a time
Thank you so much 🙏❤️ With love and gratitude ❤️

For me, 24 lines without underling as suggested. 23 lines when i did, used a pen to hover above the print.

you are awesome
How to underline with finger?
Jim while using visual pacer like pen or finger, we should drag our finger or pen on page or in air. Please make video on it.❤❤
What if the finger pacer seems distracting after having sub vocalization for many years?
I enjoy this video very much then
I read just one line more than without my finger
❤❤❤

I have no choice but to do this whenever there's quotation marks anywhere on the page or else my eyes will ffwd.
What about if we have ebook not everybody use books I have tried but it did not work on ebook

I read but then I forget.
Speed reading is truth then.

No such thing as fast reading - it’s a myth and a ruse
Why do you think it's a myth?

Jim: We reread words.

The same tip in every video
