ig you might be wondering this after observing NCERT but it is CORRECT as shown in the lecture
because
here for deriving lens maker formula when the ray enters from air to first convex lens part the other part from where light will come out starts behaving concave [AND THAT WAS SHOWN INTHE LECTURE That's WHY THE DENSE MEDIUM IS ON THE LEFT IN THE CONCAVE CASE] respectively while ray is inside
