My grandad had a 1964 Triumph Herald 1200 saloon in mustard green with red interior and a valve radio . And every Sunday he would wash and polish it with me helping and grandad saying don’t get chrome polish on the paint work . If still on the roads it would be 56years old . 4 years older then me . I felt like a king when I was in it . You could’ve given me a choice between a Rolls Royce and the Triumph and I would pick the Herald hands down . The silly so and so sold it to the coal man . Broke my heart . Every time I see a Herald I have to have a look and the memories come flooding back . Sadly the Triumph has gone to the big garage in the sky . And sadly grandad has passed. If I close my eyes I can hear the distinctive engine tone and I can see grandad and the car and a younger version of me . And grandads voice saying don’t get chrome polish on the paint work . My dream car the car of memorises the car of my childhood
That car brings back memories of my student days when I worked all summer for a second hand royal blue 1966 Triumph Herald convertible I got for 240 pounds in 1972.Inexpensive to insure and run it was a lot of fun with the hood down.Despite being labelled a ladies car,it was perfect for the 'DIY 'person on a tight budget.I looked after it and 2 years later it was snapped up for 315 pounds!I used to coat the underside with old engine oil as Triumphs were prone to rusting badly.
Finally found you guys after trying Resto cars bla bla bla it's turbo pickers who the hell came up with a name like that! Anyway gonna settle with a drink (of course) and binge watch cheers n beers Marty Aust.
HOW MUCH !!! I'll give you 1500 and drive it away,Job done and that's on a good day. I haven't watched all the clip to the end but i hope nobody buys it for that amount if so the seller needs locking up.

I passed my driving test in a Herald back in 1972 it was a fantastic car then and still remains an eye catcher
