- About Me: I am Bella Coveyou, a Girl Scout Ambassador and High School Junior from San Juan Capistrano working on my Gold Award Project, which focuses on environmental sustainability through composting horse manure in Orange County.
Why This Project: I’m collaborating with the San Juan Capistrano Equestrian Coalition, the City of San Juan Capistrano, and Orange County, CA to create a sustainable solution for recycling horse manure, benefiting equestrian stables and our community
Gold Award Requirements: The Gold Award is the highest Girl Scout achievement (akin to Eagle Scout), requiring 80+ hours of work and a sustainable solution to a community issue.
Project Focus: My project promotes free compost resources provided by OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) to increase their use among landscapers and gardeners.
