Ben, you're a strong man!!!! Before the surgery, after the surgery, you still explaining to us how you feel... What a class act!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery from Belgium!!!!
It's always a huge sigh of relief..when your child pulls through a major operation...I could see that on your face Ken..all the very best for you all..👍😊👍
Wow, having been through many surgeries myself, i know these things can be tough and Ben seems to be hanging on like a champ. Seeing Ken truly preoccupied and relieved at the same time at the bit at the end almost made me tear up. Wish you guys all the best and especially a speedy recovery for Ben. Keep us posted!
Hey Ben I'm glad your feeling better today. Take it easy and don't overdo things too soon. I'm glad it's all over now no more defating lung anymore hopefully.🤗 Hope your be back to yourself in no time flat. Wishing you all the best for the future. Sleeps well tonight and wake up fighting fit tomorrow morning.lol lol
Get well soon Ben! Much love from the other side of the world, and many good vibes! (At least they finally took care of it, you'll be all healed up now!)
Thanks for the update Ken. In America, I pay $100 a month (single) for employer sponsored group health care. My maximum out of pocket is $5k dollars annually, with over 1,000,000 USD in coverage. My employer sponsored dental care is $20 a month with a max. coverage of $4k per year for approved dental procedures. The sad part in America is, I have insurance that noticeably gives me better care than those that have less coverage or none at all. Unless it is immediately 'life-threatening' a hospital can turn away someone without insurance. I have even abruptly paid-out-of-my-own-pocket for someone else without insurance to see a Doctor before, which was a horrifying experience.
hi ken and Ben, this brings back memories when I had to get the exact same procedure done 3 years ago, weird to find someone with same problem, the worst of it is over the first few days suck but once ur home and can sleep better it gets better, just rest for about 6 weeks u will be fine
I’ve had to be in hospitals a lot. I had to be in them for weeks at a time. No fun but all of my nurses were awesome. Nurses are my super heroes! I have end stage renal failure that I’ve dealt with for the past 4 years. I’m sorry n dialysis and it’s keeping me alive. I’m so glad Ben is going to be ok. As a parent I’m sure you were very scared and stressed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Wow - all the best on returning to normal life, i know the feeling, i got to spend 3 weeks in sunnybrooke and moved to bridgepointe for 5 weeks. It seemed like hell at first, but realizing the luck I had to even be alive was a gift. Glad to watch your shows daily and see you folks don't let these things hold you back - GREAT VLOGS!!!!
Hey Ken, longtime viewer.... Thank you providing a perspective of the Canadian healthcare system. It was cool to see everything you hear about it put into action and documented as well as you did. Best wishes, James
Glad to see Ben recovering. I was worried he'd be in danger as Toronto East General have a tendency to mess up frequently and quite often patients are worse off after having their surgeries performed. Good to see you only had a 2 day stay as longer stays just expose you to the myriad of MRSAs and other nasty infections. BTW Ken you should have eaten at Knuckle Sandwich instead of that dead end Souvlaki dump on Coxwell. It's awesome.
Well wishes to Ben on a speedy recovery! The naysayers down here in the USA about Canadian health care would say something like "But he had to wait a few months to get surgery and that's bogus!"...ignoring the fact that you DO get more immediate treatment if the condition warrants it.
mr burg - Yeah, I know, but it annoys me to hear people attack universal health care with such whiny examples. Like all things, if they're trying to criticize something, they should focus on the most important things instead of muddying their arguments with minor and sometimes baseless/made-up issues.
Hey Ben/Ken. I had the same surgery a few years ago. I'm assuming its the VATS Pleurodesis? The best part about it is that you never have to worry about that lung collapsing again. The recovery time in the hospital for me was maybe 3 days, and the recovery at home took 2 good weeks before I felt back to 100%. There are two small scars on the upper left part of my chest near the armpit. They look like small knife wounds and that's what I tell the ladies (they love it ). Overall it was definitely worth it for the peace of mind of knowing that the lung can basically never collapse again.
Catching up on all the Ben videos...I'm up to date because of Facebook, but seeing Ben so sick and in pain...broke my heart. Ken and Carol big hugs to you both. Not easy being parents when the children are sick. Keep getting better and Ben, take your parent's offer on some food. I'm still suggesting the milk shake or poutin😸👏
Hey Ken, I have not watched your video's for a while busy with work. Tell Ben I hope he feels better soon he is in good hands at that hospital I lived ten minutes away from there for ten years it's a good hospital.
When i had surgery they put a pain tube in my back, didn't feel anything, did they not do that with Ben ? Fun fact about a chest X-Ray and losing a bit of hair, the radiation from one X-Ray is equivalent to a flight from Switzerland to Dubai, not that bad ^^
It would be interesting to see if you were to go to any of those mom and pop shops and do a food review if their sales went up as a result. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Ben!
Not a Dark Souls fan, not a fan of western medival settings in general these days but there is a similar game coming out soon with a feudal japanese setting called NiOh which I'm looking forward too, I quite enjoyed the beta. Good to see Ben is doing well.
Jere Savolainen I agree. The mpc's were rather lacking in 2 compared to the original. I need to start 3 when I have the time, but I'm always a year or two behind on new releases it seems :(
I hope everything is going well guys. My Job is in Indiana. May be I can move there next year when I can retire. I love Canada. Except for that guy that threw the beer. He sounds like a trump supporter. Ha have a good day men.
Ben, you're a strong man!!!! Before the surgery, after the surgery, you still explaining to us how you feel... What a class act!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery from Belgium!!!!
Ben you are a champ, chin up buddy, you will be back to 100% in no time..God Bless

Is it better than DS2?
Much better than the DS2. IMO the original Dark Souls is still the best game in the series.
Jere Savolainen I agree. The mpc's were rather lacking in 2 compared to the original. I need to start 3 when I have the time, but I'm always a year or two behind on new releases it seems :(
I do not have all that stuff , his lung collapsed again ?
