A new Chevrolet Caprice, complete with a vinyl top! I love it! And as I keep saying in other episodes, everyone, from the host, to the contestants, and even the audience, people were so much better behaved back then.
It brings back fond memories to see Dennis James on TPIR. I was a little kid when The Nighttime Price is Right with Dennis aired and I always looked forward to it each week. Nothing against Bob Barker, but the nighttime show belonged to Dennis. I often wonder had he stayed beyond 1977 if the syndicated (nighttime) show might have gone to twice a week and eventually nightly like the syndicated Family Feud did.
Anitra was my favorite. She's actually rather active on Facebook to this day. There is a fan page for her and interacts with her fans and she is as sweet as she can be. For being near 80 now, time has been good to her.
Aired in Houston TX abc 13 December 1974 this was the 1st time match game aired on cbs nbc and Abc respectively also whell of fortune as well today for the 1st time as well part as price is right dennis james
Aired in Houston, TX on ABC Channel 13 in December 1974. Nancy Young, for good reason, picked "el cheapo" in Money Game, and won her car. That Money Game board was the original. Today, they use the dollar-shaped one with a Ford Taurus silhouette since 1991. Viacom Enterprises (now known as CBS Media Ventures) distributed this game show, along with Fremantle. In the end, Young ended up with $14,969 in cash & prizes.
Great memories. In Seattle Wa it aired on KIRO TV 7 CBS Affiliate. So KIRO 7 was the best fit for The Price is Right, 5 days daytime with Bob Barker and once a week with Dennis James. It aired most of it's years 72-80 on KIRO TV 7 except the first year aired on KOMO TV 4 ABC's Affiliate.
This was an almost perfect show except for the showcases. The prizes. Where will they put them. In 1974, only the upper middle class and above that lived within their means lived in homes that had 2,500 square feet or more.
I loved Dennis James and Bob Barker, but in different ways. Dennis was from Jersey City, basically an extension of NYC and used to a fast way of life. Cordial, but no BS, just get it done. Bob was born in rural Washington and grew up on an Indian reservation in South Dakota and in Springfield, Missouri. He was more laid-back and down-home, but still stayed professional on the set.
@Michael Healy, The Price is Right (Bob Barker era after 20 years not in reruns) is on Buzzr TV,it hasn't appeared on regular Buzzr as of January 2020, the Cullee era is?
Buzzr tv will definetly be forever without leaving buzzr tv and will be aring on buzzr tv price is right beginning in early November 2019 and A great forever resolution for 2020 and forever and I will get this DVD over the holiday season under game show moments gone bananas and Price is right DVD game as well a Christmas 2019 gift that will have the buzzr tv logo accually played it last night at home

Nowadays metoo/pc/sjw/cancel crowd would demand the host lose his job, career, good name, family, possibly his citizenship, due to him being a bit too touchy feely with Nancy. It would go over like a turd in a punch bowl.
@@zabadaziditBro back in the 50’s whites were so scared of blacks they tried to separate them. THEY EVEN GOT SEPARATE *WATER FOUNTAINS.* People have always been this sensitive, dude.

Actually, the daytime hour episodes will come first. Weekdays. The syndicated half-hour episodes will air on weekends, back-to-back basis. And with the parting gift plugs removed, those episodes will be cut down to the 22-minute minimum.

I agree. What happened??????
Yes they most definitely were. I was a teenager when this was aired. I remember those days.
They were well mannered
I just love Anitra. She always had this understated personality about her. And those nighttime Showcases just went on for days. Loved them.
Janice and Anitra were so pretty! The best TPIR models ever!
Nobody could describe a prize like Johnny Olson could.
He sure was terrific! Love his "Come On Down!" calls, too.

As a child, these Dennis James hosted TPIR shows I typically saw on TV as opposed to the Bob Barker versions because I was in school...
These episodes the prime time at night price is right
Dennis James was great hosting this show! 🥰
😅😅😅😅
😅😊 9:12 😮

@@gsnman Indianapolis had it on WISH - CBS 8 (now CW 8), L.A. on Channel 4, KNBC; New York on Channel 2, WCBS.
It aired on WXEX (now WRIC) ABC8 Petersburg/Richmond VA
I used to watch it on KTRK-TV too! Good times back then...
I'm glad that Nancy won!!!
That beautiful ❤️ heart shaped bed
$19 must have been one of the early "El Cheapos"
Boy, Dennis James just rushed that ending like he had to go to the bathroom or something! Sheesh!
They taped in real time, and they needed every second without stopping or exits.
😂
That's a pretty diamond ring!!!!!!
Judging by the 1974 cues, this is from 1974.
No long credit roll at the end...and the phrase "A VIACOM ENTERPRISES PRESENTATION" is missing!
This was great!

Dennis James talks so fast he would make a good auctioneer.
Nice to see Dennis James TPIR turn up. Episode number 91 of the nighttime TPIR, taped 10/14/1974
You forgot to give Nancy a cigar
I wonder how long the heart shaped bed survived.
EL Cheapo wins it again
Did the second showcase podium flirt with an earthquake aftershock, as it appeared to be? The flashing total of $14,969 tells the short story!
That Camaro LT is now 6 times the amount as it was in 74!
9:41 "Think of how many times people have gone because they ignored EL CHEAPO. Do you suppose the back of the car is right there behind EL CHEAPO?!"

Episode #091N
The Pinball Machine is Worth $995.
Nancy Young got the price on the nose. When did they start giving $100 bonus money for a bid on the nose? What year is this from?
What episode number was this episode?
Three winners in a row. What year is from? It has to be from between 1972 to 1975!!!
1974.

Women would not being saying "I want it! I want it!" to a fur coat today! That would be politically incorrect!
mark lubiarz Unless the woman will be exiled to Antarctica or Alaska.
Most likely.
True, that's because fur coats were banned since 1981.
ok buh-bye let's go....
I'll say this, Nancy has great legs! Guess she wanted the audience and viewers at home to know that too. ;D
And Nancy is the Girl with her hands & nose as Nancy wins her winning her Smile & Nametag together Prizes while Nancy is the winning her winning her Smile & Nametag together Prizes Girl with her hands & nose!
Even Though That Camaro was a 1974 Model, I'm 100% Certain Your Mom was Given a 1975 Model.
