At 83, having lived through what you describe, as a Secular Carmelite for over 60 years, with decades of responsibility for Carmelite Formation, I found myself as I listened, saying, Yes, Yes, Yes … I too have used the image of the high rise but also recognise that having reached the top floor, it is necessary to, even then, descend not just to the first floor but to pull down the whole structure and live in the foundations … a place of nothingness, taking one into open ground, that you describe so well, beyond systems and structures and then we become most fully silent, with nothing more to say, nothing more to teach, invited to disappear from view and ‘stay in the brightness’ hidden with Christ in God. Thank you for dedicating yourself to teaching the next generation and reminding me of the plenitude that I have unworthily received.

I need to reset my soul , spirit , mind , body . No matter what you’re talking about . I feel a little better . I save listening to your content literally to save me . For long drives on a drive to clear my mind and fill it with your words of wisdom . I really need that now . I’m absorbing way too much of the negative energy in the collective , I need to be apart or the positive, in the positive, and Partake in the positive . Caroline, my picture that I use here is exactly your lecture. I went to a nature preserve to see the birds. I waited all day in silence.....no birds until suddenly I looked directly above, up and there they were. Their nest was directly above me, not 10 feet away. Laughter sprang from my depth. For the rest of that evening they lived as they were not for me but in their majesty and beauty endowed by their relationship with all things. I'll never forget the branches they brought home that became parts of their nest. What am I doing, what are my choices now, in this moment? What are my branches? What floor am I on? I find I am incongruity and only by my asking for grace will I come together in Light, and Love.
Caroline. Sweet beauty. I recently moved to a higher room. The one you so perfectly describe. I am living in the moment at every moment. I chose it. Now is filled with choices that count. I can’t plan future outcomes any more than I can be directly influenced by helpful ancestors. I now have the wisdom of all my ancestors (everywhere in space and time)... I am a creator only. It’s a new way of existing for sure. I’m learning. I can’t say I’m going to do something and not do it as it has a side effect. I call it living clean! Life tests and rewards me continuously. I even installed a plant box in the elevator! I know were going to get the light out. I have this belief that it needs to feel like a party for some of the hesitant. Spiritual growth is serious work, but the parties up here are more enjoyable and the attendees wont steel your coat . you know, with the sweet balcony :)

On a personal note, I think maybe I started reaching those excruciatingly painful levels years ago. I didn’t understand that this was to be expected, and temporary. So I guess I dropped out just below there, in agony and anger at God. Maybe now I can understand how to start moving up again and move through these.

I've found that 'choices' always emanate from an inherent leaning away from danger, pain, discomfort, harm --into what is assessed, in the moment, as life-preserving or for thriving. Our 'programming,' conditioned habits, beliefs, floor of the Divine Building from which I'm perceiving my world ---influences which particular choices, decisions I make, actions I take, and creation Law acts on these, bringing into our 'reality' energetic ' matches to the essential energy of our Psyche/Being/Self and self --that gave rise to the desires, and choices ---which are most often attempts, unconscious, to fulfill our Hearts.
Your life experiences and story is all that makes me understand who I am and that I am not crazy or some kind of strange anomaly. Thank you so much. The true mystical experience can lead to mental health interventions if we are not careful.❤️
Choice and purpose are similar if not the same across all spectrums of being. Life is choice. Life is purpose. A living universe is a purposeful universe in choice at every moment.

An 'impulse' can arise either from in-Spire-ation (from an illuminated moment) --be a response to Life, or as a knee-jerk reaction, from our habits/programming. They don't feel, in your being, the same: you become adept at distinguishing them. Namaste.
