    WHAT??? That's the first time I've ever seen an easy to deal with oil filter! I love Subaru for this alone, along with the boxer engine of course. This is my next vehicle for sure.

    Do you replace the crush washer every time? Also what torque specs on the oil plug, and filter?

      Hi Big T. Yes i highly recommend to change your washer every time you oil change your car. Most of the oil filter comes with the washer, but in case if the filter doesn't come with a new washer, i would highly recommend to buy extra washer. Torque Specs "about 30 to 33 lb-ft of torque." Good Luck!

    For an even easier oil change the second time around, install a Fumoto valve the first time.

      Does the plastic cover fit over the valve?

    • @dlg5485
      @dlg5485 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@2002chow It will fit no problem. Just get the standard length valve, not the 'long nipple' version, although it would probably fit as well, but just to be safe. I install a fumoto valve on every vehicle I purchase. It makes oil changes so much simpler and cleaner!

    What is wrong with adding the amount of oil as recommended in the owner manual? And what is a “pinch” hole?

    • @VictorHernandez-nt3tw
      @VictorHernandez-nt3tw 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pinch hole is the side where the dent is inside creating a pocket. Where the other side is a bump like a hill.

    • @zachzouyed1185
      @zachzouyed1185 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      More specifically, there’s a lower pinch hole and a upper pinch hole. Those two holes indicate the oil level. You want the oil to be in the upper 75% between them

    • @olshamus
      @olshamus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s always advised to change the crush washer on the drain plug, that being said; over the years I’ve only replaced it like 2x on personal vehicles and never had any issues. I wouldn’t sweat it.
