Hey, we're good at what we do. She doesn't do stand-up, so of course she's better off-the-cuff. But this wasn't bad by any measure. Her timing was good, and if you don't have that in standup (or any comedy really), then nothing else matters. If she had an opportunity to do more standup, she'd no doubt get better at it.
I enjoy her comments on the show a great deal from time to time. I like how her mind works on certain topics, she comes at it a lot of times in the end like I would, but attacks it a different way in her mind. Sometimes in doing so she makes me think of it even a third way which is cool.

But in a Disney or Bad Robot action flix she could beat the crap out of him all while wearing that outfit. This would include fighting him on the roof of a house or moving train.

Love Kat! I'm a performing musician and I can vouch that trying to do stand up is 1000x more difficult! Being funny, on-demand is one of the greatest skills one can possess. It comes easier for some, and is hard earned by most who are successful at it. I think Kat has all the potential in the world to pursue it if she chooses to. Great job!

IMO, she kind of should do the thing where she takes political/social stories and ties them into her life/dating observations. Plays to her strengths.

Okay, I actually have a "friend' on facebook who posts exactly like Kat described. "Here I am alone again, I guess I should be used to it..because no one really cares about me." A mutual friend throws a little party with Karaoke at his house. I think to myself... "I hope he invites her so she won't feel so alone." Lewis Black used to make me laugh a lot about 10 years ago, but since then he got liberal, which actually made him somewhat more boring to me. Norm MacDonald is/will always be the benchmark for me. Joe Devito is a long-time comedian, and you can even catch one of his specials on Dry Bar. If you ever come across anything from Kate McCutchie (not sure on the spelling there), take a break and watch her; she's a riot, especially those times she was on the Conan O'Brien show.
Gutfeld is a genius. He staffs his show with really funny stand-up comedians (Jimmy Failla, Jamie Lissow, Tom Shillue, Joe Machi, Joe DeVito) and smart pretty women (Kat Timpf and every woman who works at Fox). That's why he's #1 in his slot.

Agree. I did laugh. But yeah, some of the stuff was a bit generic. Sometimes getting specific with comedy can be a problem if the audience can't follow you. But this was not such a time. The audience is there to see them and knows them. Jokes roasting everyone around her are the jokes that would have worked best.

Agree. I did laugh. But yeah, some of the stuff was a bit generic. Sometimes getting specific with comedy can be a problem if the audience can't follow you. But this was not such a time. The audience is there to see them and knows them. Jokes roasting everyone around her are the jokes that would have worked best.
