It was the seventh consecutive loss today. Are you promoted again? You are definitely on a hot streak. 3. in cold blood He is guilty of murdering three people in cold blood. 4. to give sb. the cold shoulder My girlfriend has been giving me the cold shoulder. I don't understand why. 5. out cold A left hook struck the opponent's jaw and knocked him out cold. 6. to pour(=throw) cold water on sth. When I came up with an idea, everybody else was just pouring cold water on it. It's so mean of you to throw cold water on the kid's dream. 7. the tip of the iceberg A: How serious do you think the turmoil is? B: Disastrous. The things that are going on now are just the tip of the iceberg. 8. to break the ice/an icebreaker She's really good at small talk, and she's always the one who breaks the ice.
