    damage to pons? or medulla oblongata? I only say this because the respiratory centre is located in the medulla but there may be some mechanism that allows damage to the pons to be a cause. Thanks for the video though.

      The respiratory centers (RCs) are located in the medulla oblongata and pons, as wiki says
      The inspiratory nuclei of the medulla generate automatic rhythmic impulses (4-5 times per min spontaneously
      -->not associated with the arrival of impulses from other centers, due to the metabolism of cells located in there) that stimulate contraction of the inspiratory muscles, while the pneumotaxic center, located in pons, inhibits the inspiratory center.Therefore if pons is damaged inspiration won't be limited etc.
