Polyend tracker is so darn powerful! I can’t say I knew about this trick. But it all makes sense when you showed it because the Tracker is so easy to use!
THANK YOU. This is such a great hidden feature that I was originally disappointed wasn’t on the tracker. Great way to work, still one of my favorite devices out there.
The only glitch about this feature I found is that it only works when the pattern is 32 steps long. The pattern pasted will always be only 32 steps, therefore if you've copied longer patterns they will be cut short. However, this is still a very convenient way to arrange song when you've made sure that all patterns are in the necessary length.
Wow, this is great! Had the tracker for about a year and amazed how that record button works in each of its states. Will definitely be using this to help construct some jams
I discovered the squares copy function because it seemed strange for those squares to exist in the UI if you couldn’t do anything with them. But the whole pattern copy I didn’t know about yet! It is a game changer.
Funnily enough, I only learned this method a couple of weeks ago as well! I like using the song mode for the visual feedback and the ability to choose bits and pieces from the previous patterns, but both are great!
This is great, as I was very confused about how to make variations. I still don't understand how to mute tracks in a variation pattern but not in the original pattern. Is it because track mute is global and not at the pattern level?
You can even preview single tracks before copying in song mode
...WOAH. I did not know that, pinning this so others can see!

It really is, thanks for watching!
This is the best tip for the PT+ ever! Thanks u so much
Thanks for still covering the Tracker. I still use mine!
It'll always have a spot in my heart, it's a fantastic piece of gear!

Thanks as always!
Thank you, that is a genuinely helpful tip. Makes a nice change to see a video that delivers on its “tip”.
Glad you found it helpful!
It would be neat if you could press Shift ⬇Add and have it create a new pattern slot with the previous pattern in it. Nice video!
Nice idea!

Glad to help! Thanks for watching :)
That's how I've been developing songs on the Mini, great feature.
Absolutely!

I finally taught you something for a change! Thanks for watching :D
[Pattern] + [Copy] => [Pattern] + [Up] => [Pattern] + [Shift] + [Copy] - voila!
Funnily enough, I only learned this method a couple of weeks ago as well! I like using the song mode for the visual feedback and the ability to choose bits and pieces from the previous patterns, but both are great!
Great tip.👍
Thanks!
Kind of like cloning on the M8. Very cool
Sort of, yeah! Thanks for watching :)
WOW!
Thanks for watching!
This is great 👍
Thanks so much!
This is great, as I was very confused about how to make variations.
I still don't understand how to mute tracks in a variation pattern but not in the original pattern.
Is it because track mute is global and not at the pattern level?
Correct, instead of muting a track in a variation, just delete it :) Hope that helps!
I thought that's the way to do it initially to fasten up the process. But is there a way to shorten individual stems from the song mode?
No, because patterns are the same length across all tracks. Thanks for watching!
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
More OG tracker vids, please.🙏
More on the way!
That is a nifty tip, but if you think that’s fast, just wait til you see the M8 workflow! 😊
I actually already own an M8, and have done several videos with it :) I like them both equally!
@@FreeBeat That comment was more aimed at the general audience, not you personally, but it’s hard to tell :)
I love mine and use it constantly but I had no idea this was a thing😂
Glad to help, thanks for watching!
This isn't new - been able to do this for a long time, but yes definitely way better way of building songs.
Never claimed that it was new, just that I had recently learned about it :) Thanks for watching!
