and by the way, verbal jint said butterfly only once during that verse and his message and lyrics are great.
this is taeyeon debut as a solo artist and a song that meant so much for her and all of us sones (snsd/girls' generation fans)
what is the importance of him saying it once ? wait this is her first debut solo song??? definitely feels like her 5-6th song.

you said his verse was repetitive and that he repeated butterfly like five six times. but he only said that once.

Taeyeon is considered as the Idol of Idols, so in S.Korea she got a whole bunch of Kpop male and female idols who secretly got a crush on her. Unfortunately, some netizen are also "possessive" of their idols which forced Taeyeon to end her relationship with Baekhyun and start apologizing to her fans. She now remains single and probably will no longer take any other relationship (or, as long as she's an active idol).
The song "I" was her solo debut so she might have some input in the song lyrics. However, accroding to an article "When asked why she hasn’t worked on any songs after that, she reveals, “I’m careful about expressing my emotions. I’m not the type to often share my thoughts. I leave the past where it ends, and I don’t write in a diary either.”

I hope that you can also check Taeyeon's girl group called SoNyeo ShiDae (SNSD) or Girl's Generation in English/International name. They're Nation Girl Group of S.Korea, but they also originally includes 3 American born members so they also did a concert in Madison Square Garden.
