This ova handled "two worlds" theory much better than the modern games (and the Sonic Movie).
What games had "two worlds"?
@@eddie142 It's just a word of gods (Iizuka's) to explain why Sonic sees humans in some games and not in others.
@@ikagura Canonically speaking, the humans and the... idk... furries(?) just happen to inhabit the same world in the games with the implication that they always have.
There really is only the one world in the games for the most part.
@@eddie142 The fact that the human population is completely abscent in Sonic Forces and the fact that the "furry" population only appears in this simgle game leads me to believe that Sonic Forces takes place in a whole different world.

It's the same exact world, according to Sega
Around 0:55 it seems to be missing some percussive melodies. It's also missing a background vocal that goes "Huh!" every... second note, I'm guessing, in each measure throughout the ost.
That "huh!" Is always missing, but it's not accidentally occurring. It is definitely sampled every second eighth note.
I'm just glad I'm not crazy and someone else hears it too.
actually I'm pretty sure there's two versions of the song like most of the songs in the OVA. the one you're thinking of is the one that plays during the land of darkness. I'm pretty sure this version plays during the final fight with metal sonic in the glacer area
@@smores7413 This is an early production demo. The White House theme is completely different in the demos, but is still similar.
Anyone find it somewhat similar to Aquatic capital from Zero gravity?
Aquatic Capital has this sampled in it that's why.
For some reason, the opening to this song feels like being up really late on a summer night.

Sonic goes to the real world, dude
That’s actually my theory on this. I believe that the land of darkness leads to the real world. Mobius is all the worlds spawning from the classic sonic lore, with the land of darkness being a path or gateway that branches into a more open, realistic, and darker toned world. And then beyond that world equivalent to our own could be an even darker world or lands even more happy and fantastical than mobius.
I think a world like that would be perfect for the adventure sight seeking sonic the hedgehog
Edit: well I guess it’s not really a theory it’s more of a personal headcanon I’ve made
