    I really miss Yuju's resonance. If there's something that I want to comeback, it's her resonance, forget my ex.

    Moontak and Yeonji slay with their lower larynx coordination - natural weight with that kind of very advanced technique is so great.

      Pop singer and lower larynx coordination 😋

    • @tykp8140
      @tykp8140 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Based on this video I didn't hear Yeonji do it lower larynx coordination while she was belting @2.30 was still bright and 3.12 I wouldn't say she did it compared to 0.57 that sounds clearer.

    • @eddyjacx5622
      @eddyjacx5622 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@tykp8140 Yeonji isn't as dark as Moontak, neither in tonality nor coordination. However, she does indeed use vocal tract lengthening most of the time, at least up to C5/C#5. That kind of roundness isn't quite possible without some intentional pharyngeal opening.

    • @tykp8140
      @tykp8140 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@eddyjacx5622 I think you misunderstood the point. I mean, it's about the larynx position. The lower larynx coordination is a classic technique that shows the depth voice that cannot be found in pop music.

    • @eddyjacx5622
      @eddyjacx5622 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@tykp8140 The point of lowering the larynx is to lengthen the vocal tract aka open up the pharyngeal space to increase the size of the body' primary resonating chamber. I am well aware pop singers are not going to be using the kind of lower larynx that we heard from the great operatic masters, but there are indeed some pop singers who apply the lower larynx to some degree, and do so correctly and efficiently albeit not nearly to the same extent as opera singers. Moontak is one of these singers, as is Yeonji. Their techniques are still "bright" compared to opera sopranos but there is a good deal more depth compared to typical bright pop girls like Taeyeon, Tori Kelly, Mariah Carey, etc.

    Yeonji is my favorite vocalist. Such a great belter. I'm a bit worried becuase her vocal condition isn't the best in the last 3 years. But the technique is still there so I guess she's just tired.
    Seo Moontak is so underrated. Her mid belts are phenomenal.
    Great video!

    2:18 Here is the real queen of the A4-D5 zone 👀 ☕️
    Edit: Moontak is the other queen of that zone lol. These two are by far the most impressive to me in that region. Joohyun and Lina have some great moments as well. Ailee is a beast in the 4th octave, as is SSY; both can apply some depth down there. Once we get above C#5/D5, Haeri starts to really shine and then comes Sohyang with an unrivaled F5-B5 zone lol.

    • @vampiregaming9820
      @vampiregaming9820 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What about moontak and joohyun? How is their A4 - D5 compared to yeonji

    • @eddyjacx5622
      @eddyjacx5622 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@vampiregaming9820 Moontak is very much the other reigning queen of that region lol. I am slightly less impressed by Joohyun in that range (perhaps due to her glottal tension that creeps in when she sustains notes sometimes) but she is also quite good there and better than almost anyone here.

    • @eddyjacx5622
      @eddyjacx5622 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Nuggies I was looking into her recently. I definitely don't find her to be as rounded as Moontak and Yeonji in that A4-D5 range, and yea she doesn't seem to lower her larynx as much or as often as them + Joohyun. She seems to produce her roundest notes when she sings for those musicals like 5:20, that was very good. Overall, I would classify her as someone who has a grasp of depth, it's just not as advanced as some of these other sopranos imo.

    • @vampiregaming9820
      @vampiregaming9820 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@eddyjacx5622 I find this very shocking considering Lina is in good tier. While the trio moontak/yeonji/joohyun are only competent to good tier.
      So I expected Lina to have better roundness and coordination than the trio

    • @eddyjacx5622
      @eddyjacx5622 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@vampiregaming9820 I believe Lina is on the lower end of Good, while someone like Yeonji is very high in P-G. There is more to take into consideration than just the roundness of the A4-D5 region when ranking people of course. Moontak is held back by her lack of proper head voice development, for example. Lina is also the strongest of them when it comes to Eb5/E5 I believe, so there's that boosting her.
