As someone else mentioned that need to go back to Uberti or the Distributor the rifle was purchased from. Send spent cases along with the rifle. Doing a Cerrosafe chamber casting could be enlightening. If the casting will not readily come out then leave it in when sending the rifle back with a note indication it is there.
I had the extraction problem with the same weapon which was solved with a small file in order to file the extractor tooth which was unable to hook the case back. By reducing the thickness of the tooth, it is able to hook the cartridge case.
That's a real shame for such a beautiful rifle. It looks like something went wrong on the final chamber reaming if those cases are fire forming that far out of dimension. That's sure to cause extraction issues. Pretty doesn't mean quality. I hope Uberti fixes that gun for him.
I encounter the very same problems with my Uberti 1873. It was even already sent to the Factory in Italy and they retourned it without doing anything, saying it is caused by the ammunition (It´s not, I´ve tried like a dozen different brands).
It's not the ammo. It can be the ammo, if Uberti is using very low pressure ammo, then it is the ammo. But it was shot with several different types of commercial ammo and it did not extract. How does the ammo brand cause a bulge at the 5 o'clock position. Uberti is grasping at straw.
@@rustybiggs9323 I´ve tried everything from MagTech, S&B, GECO etc. Mostly JHP as well. The problem mainly occurs after firing 10-15 rounds in a short amount of time. It almost never happens when the gun is cold.
This is what im looking for i grew up with this rifle
on our farm what a legend of a gun.
Beautiful rifle!! Thank you for the post!
That is a beautiful gun

I would send it back to Uberti. This shouldn't be happening.
They are beautiful rifles.

Are you using flat nose bullets?
@@rustybiggs9323 JHP, with a flat lead nose.
