This tutorial can be used generically and used for any certificate of: appreciation, achievement, attendance, etc...

After spending an hour searching for certificates to download without any sites to join or templates that didn't work I turned to youtube and found this video. It was a lifesaver! It was easy to follow and I enjoyed the satisfaction that I created the certificates myself!
I just started following you 2 days ago and I must say... WOW I learned more on your channel than I did in school lol, you bet I hit that subscribe button and an alarm reminder, thank you so much I was looking for step by step and Explanation on how to do certain Things on MS word.

Just happened to come across your tutorial by accident. I had been looking for a do it yourself certificate for a while. Your video is very comprehensive, although a bit speedy for everything to sink in without rewinding numerous times.
My situation is that I would like to email a certificate which would go to numerous recipients and would have their name on the cert. I would like to be able to be able to restrict editing and protect the document from change by the recipient and would like to edit the recipient's name and one or two other custom fields. I have not yet attempted to create a cert but will need to experiment with the developer tab.
Any suggestions?

what version of Microsoft Word is being used here..? I am using a default word in my Windows 7 OS. Shall I do the Same way as it did here..?

Thank you for a great tutorial! When I added this image to my word doc and made it larger it became very pixelated. Is there something else I need to do? Thank you. :-)
So if the image you use isn't a high resolution image (small image to start with) then yes it will be pixelated. You need to choose LARGE images/files/picture sizes in order for the image not to get distorted.

Sorry for the delay in response, I use normal paper or card stock that you can purchase from an office supply store.

I am a beginner looking at it now. It is excellent but much to fast to look at the video and work on a certificate at the same time. I stopped counting how many times I played sections over and over.

What if I have a color the whole background when I inserted the pictures those are showing white background
you need to either find .png images with transparent backgrounds or you need to click on the picture > Format > Remove background...although that doesn't always work depending on the picture.

hi Tracy, How do i save my work so i can upload them to my facebook page
You can do it a few ways....I *think* you can upload .pdf's to facebook....if you can, then just do a save as > Scroll down to Microsoft .pdf and save your doc as a .pdf and then you can upload it. The other option is to do a screenshot...to do this you press CTRL while that is pressed then press PrtScreen. Open Paint and press CTRL > V or File > Paste and then save your screenshot as a .gif or .jpg and upload it as picture (you can also crop in paint). I hope that helps.

how to save as a picture
what kind of paper did you use?
I typically use stock paper you can get from amazon or OfficeMax but you can use any paper you like.
What is the page size?
I use the normal 8.5 x 11 paper or card stock paper from office supply stores.
my ms word has not any text style .
You need to upgrade your MS Word version then! The older version don't have this feature.

The font? This is a tutorial on how to make this yourself and you can make any customizations needed.
Are you sure you want to "Presentence" the certificate? Here is a presentence for you: "Don't always trust Microsoft Word's automatic spell checker." :-)
mam after resize my frame, it becomes unclear.what to do then?
How large are you trying to make it? Are you using the same image I used? You need to be sure the frame you use is a high resolution picture or it will become unclear (trying to make an small image large). Does that make sense? Again, be sure you save a LARGE image to start with.

f you want to make a watermark....you can very easily import any image to use as the watermark, put it where you'd like it to show, with the image still selected, ensure you're on the format picture tab > click on Color > Picture color options > play with the brightness and contrast until it's almost translucent. Once you can barely see the image, you can right click and select > Send to Back.
