Just an important note for those who play the arcade version of Deadstorm Pirates
1. Some of the enemies and destroyable objects/boxes you could shoot to rack up combos are missing in some levels.
2. Some chests' placements are different comparing to the PS3 version, in fact there are no chests in the final level in the arcade version (Unless the technician increase the game difficulty to make those appear?)
Those are from what I've noticed personally when I'm playing the arcade game and then watch this gameplay footage

This should give you the perfect idea. In arcade, the highest I’ve managed to get through is almost barely 10 million. On PS3 (where I’m 50th on leaderboards), I got over 13 million. Good examples of different box placements are the crates in Stormy seas (when you face the first weakpoint enemy) and in the Mountains (when you face the last lot of piranhas). Funny though in Cave, when you’ve dodged the snake, there’s some treasure chests ahead of you that aren’t in the PS3 version. It does make a huge difference.
@@metalftw9652 I couldn't agree more. PS3 is undoubtedly the better version of this game when it comes to racking up combos (or combination as the game calls it) because it's just so much easier to get a high score. Also, the highest score someone ever got, at least in my arcade, is 13 million points. *I am shocked*.
One other thing to consider when trying to attempt the perfect run is *fatigue*. That really determines your performance when playing the game. I did get 10 million, but in that run there were parts where my body gave up. Along with the fact that the seats were vibrating a lot, really made my head to concentrate a lot more and pushed it to the limits. I got a game over twice in the game, and actually got a headache irl because of it
@@kmuzaki Oh I didn’t have the one where it vibrates sadly (or for high scores, maybe that’s a good thing). But 13 mil in the arcade?! How? I’ve just managed to get a little over 10 mil now I believe 3 times and those are my biggest pushes. Would never be able to get that.

Thanks to your video I could get every trophy in this game and finish it 100%. Today I got Ruler of the Seven Seas which was the last trophy I needed. I even played through on normal difficulty without using a continue (it is allowed to play on easy but I wanted a little extra challenge).
Your skills are awesome and were a huge help. Of course I had to practice every stage but watching this video really helped me to know enemy patterns and which enemy to kill first once they appear on screen. Thanks a lot! I knew it was the right choice to get this dusty game back from my backlog where it stayed unfinished for 8 years back when I started it carelessly lol 😂.

There are 5 difficulties in this game, Very easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very hard. This video was Normal difficulty. You can see Very hard difficulty playthrough from Deadstrom pirates Livestreaming. I challenged it with dual guns at that time.

I'm working on a trophy guide for this game (a detailed one, unlike the one that already exists), can I use your video to make screenshots of chest locations for the guide? I will credit you of course. Also, is the HP loss significant to get an S rank? So far I haven't seen that losing health makes you lose combo or score, so I'm not sure if makes that big of a difference, maybe in the end when you're being rated? Thanks in advance!
Hi after a 7-year break I finally want to finish this game. I got 100% in TC4 and HotD4. Deadstorm Pirates is next. Is your guide already online somewhere? It would be helpful to have a visual guide for S ranks.

@@haserpl2367 yes I actually have a question concerning the Navigator of the High Seas trophy which is for getting s ranks in every stage. I know this has not to be done in one playthrough. Do I have to play until the end through all missions every time I get an S rank for them to count? My plan was to practice one stage at a time in 1P arcade mode and s rank it, advance to next stage and then quit to menu. I noticed that the game saves after quitting. I am not sure if my s rank gets saved though. I hope you understand what I mean and can help.
@@truth_has_been_spoken you only need to replay the stage you're missing, you don't have to play an entire game for that
How do you get Yo-ho-ho rank in the steering sections?
Basically, we can get Yo-ho-ho when we went to difficult path with no damage.
Great Whilrpool ... Going through between a ship and Kraken before the first cut scene, and avoiding the next ship by moving right.
Mountain stream ... Avoiding the first 2 rocks by going left to right to left, and going through the last rock with inner side.
Cave ... Difficult to say, but the thing we must do for getting Yo-ho-ho is avoiding the obstacle by going to left side at the 31:13.

Why you let the final boss hit you multiple time?
Looks like because when you hit/destroy the targets, you earn points - so when you let the boss bite you, it resets the targets without damaging the boss, therefore letting the player earn more points and not ending the fight too early.
Can you do special edition next?
And why is the subtitles japanese and why is the languange english?

Taking a 16 mil score on SE and comparing it to an original version (WR 12.5 mil) is like having an adult getting all A+ in an elementary school's exam.
Maybe compare your 16.1 mil to the world record of 18.76 mil for SE.

How to get s rank ?
The determinant of high rank is score, so you have to get higher score in order to get S rank.
