That the diagonal bevel on one side became twisted like that probably means that there is a slight un-evenness in the side bevels, especially since the error was compounded by the other side veering off in the other direction. It doesn’t have to be much, just having a chip wedged between the sword and the table when machining could do it, or one of any number of other factors that displaced the edge just a tiny bit off-center.

Warping can add a change of angle effecting the Tangent and in turn Sine from your vice, you have a few options but they aren't great to fix, one is grinding down the edge and using a magnet plate just hoping you can get a level plane and have everything still hold a tolerance but risk scale of the blade being a bit thinner or one edge being a bit deeper. Which for a standard sword would be an issue for edge alignment but no human is actually lifting that without having back issues and sinking into the grass.

25:30 Parts like this one have been especially enjoyable to see as part of the process! But everything so far has been actually quite cool to see as well as the immense amount of effort you've put into making the blade given how difficult it is to work with.

A side note is the dragon slayer is filled with chips on the edge of the blade so guts is not cleanly slicing people in half, he is tearing people in half, so don’t trip over a chip on the edge it obeys the lore of the dragon slayer

You've got balls of steel working on that thing. The weight by itself is scary, add that edge to it even unsharpened, loosing control of that in the shop would be catastrophic. Stay safe while working on it sir. Fantastic work.

Nothing beats air tools for sanding as they are self cooling and can run effectively endlessly. 90° is my favorite.
You did great on the bevel btw, it's a difficult thing to do. Best guide would probably be a primer on the section you want to meet as the reflection of light is the hardest part to differentiate.
The gouge in inescapable with a guide, sadly as when you come to a stop you invariably pull, which multiplied by every stroke, leads to more material removed.
All in all, it's coming along fantastically.

Towards the end when you were nitpicking your work, i understand the artist's desire for perfection but keep in persepctive! whoever comissioned this will think its perfect, and lore accurate! like, Dragonslayer is LITERALLY a bludgeoning weapon with a sharp edge. If Guts is fighting actual demons with scales and rock monsters and etc, hes gonna have dents and nicks in his actual blade too :)
    this thing is frickin dope.

I've watched a couple of content creators making giant swords for a while now, and I have to say, none had left me in awe as your work with this one has. The sheer size and weight of the piece of metal you've choosen to work, to keep it as faithful as possible to the fictional conterpart has made some famous professionals make compromises and just shrink the size or thickness of the sword, just because how impossible it would be just to transport this thing from one machine to another, like you've been doing in the past 3 videos. That's a really amazing amout of commitment there.
Now, I'm curious, how do you plan to make the handle? You'll have to drill the sword and put giant bolts there to secure? Maybe drill the sword towards it's lenght and put a giant steel bar there as the "spine" of the sword?
