Agree it is good to see someone give it a context from their own persepctive. I am married to Paul Butler and we have both enjoyed seeing how his Cable Street mural and the others mentioned in this piece, which we have also recently restored, has been experienced by someone else with a very considered view referencing art history - which as it turns out happens to be the key influneces in Paul's work. Personally we like to hear how different people read a work of art and being open to a diversity of views from many different people.
He IS providing the full context - that is exactly what he is doing. You can't just stare at the wall and magically know the history of British fascism. This isn't abstract expressionism - there is more to it than your reaction. This is more like classical art.

Why are people still telling others how to read a painting rather than providing the full context and allowing us to come to our own conclusions?
