Fun Fact: Roy Skelton, the second voice of Zippy, after Peter Hawkins, who died in 2011, had the longest career of a Dalek voice. Peter Hawkins also voiced them. The Gerry Anderson puppets do not speak because all of their original voices, such as David Graham, who also voiced Parker in the reboot, were either retired, dead or simply unavailable.
Roy Skelton voiced both Zippy and George and he said he had so much fun when the two characters got into arguments because he'd do it all in one take and just be interrupting himself in different voices.
Hilarious. It's great to see Zig and Zag and it's great to see Otis the Aardvark as well! I absolutely love it! I'd say this is probably the best BBC Children In Need music video I have ever seen! Good evening from Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪!
I was shocked to see them. Makes me kinda hope they just decide to do a reunion special while every other 2000s sitcom seems interested in doing the same.
Seeing those puppets last night on BBC one children in need bring back lovely TV memories for me because on BBC one I watched Ed the Duck and Gordon the Gopher in the broom cupboard and it a rainbow on children citv Zippy and George and Bungle so thank you for that and Philip Schofield driving in the taxi at the start of music video when all my childhood puppets came to together for BBC one children in need so thank you and of course Mr Bobby i was born in the 80s so thank you for this again😀😃😄😁
My favourite out of all of them is and always will be Edd the Duck. The worst of it is that I'm in my late 60's and after watching this I'm still asking myself what I'd like to be when ( and if ) I grow up? :-)
I am surprised that two characters from mongrels got to be in this masterpiece (I hope they do a sequel to this with more puppet icons heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if they get the Muppets)
Super cute! Haven't seen most of these characters for a very long time; I'm so happy they're still around! One of my favorite songs too! also lol mongrels
Loved it especially seeing Zig and Zag and the controversial Mr Blobby.. would’ve been great if they could’ve used some others such as Rosie and Jim and Teletubbies
HOLY SHIT YOU BROUGHT IN COUSIN MORTIMER AND BINGO BRUSH... I mean, I kinda expect Basil due to his survival via panto. But to bring the characters from the old show back... Time for a revival?
Wow I had forgotten about some of those. There was at least 5 generations of characters there! Missed some though such as Sooty, Sweep and Sue (although I don’t think they were BBC characters) another one I would have liked to see nostalgia wise was Badger from Bodger and Badger
If only this included Jelly and Jackson (Story Makers), Rosie & Jim, Tilly, Tom, and Tiny (Tots TV), Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po (Teletubbies), Sooty, Sweep, Sue, and Little Cousin Scampy (Sooty & Co), Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo, and Miss Piggy (The Muppets), Fimbo, Florrie, and Pom, Betty and Ribble, Roly Mo, Rocket the Frog (Fimbles and its spin-off, the Roly Mo Show), and even Ozzie and the gang (The Fun Song Factory) all joined in the fun
I would LOVE to see a reboot of Mongrels, great to see Nelson and Marion here!
This is one of the best moments i've ever seen from BBC's Children in Need, ever!
Poor Mr Blobby though. :(
Not necessarily, remember all the chaos he used to cause? Good idea he's kept out
Yup the damage!
Really nice to see Zippy, George and Bungle again!!
As a Gerry Anderson fan, I'm pleased that THUNDERBIRDS, CAPTAIN SCARLET and TERRAHAWKS are represented in this song!
Never thought I would see the Mongols characters again I wish they would bring that show back
Well they have been brought out of the cupboard and BBC 3 coming back so you never know.
@@DankerTVTimeCapsule I Can Only Hop I'm glad they never forgot about them
Shame vince never showed up at end to ask what the @&£” was going on and who were all these £&@“s
This was chaos but beautiful chaos which is what we need more of!
Amazing. The best puppet crossover charity song since 1991's ''Everybody Needs a Helping Hand''.
Otis The Aardvark is my favourite, I'm glad he was there.

Good evening from Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪!
This should've been the official single
They should do this every year... it was the best thing I've ever seen on Children in Need...
I agree. Next year we’re gonna be getting CBeebies characters Rick rolling us
"No, that's the cat flap! No! You mustn't!"
Hacker is genius. 😂
So many Memories! Amazing!!
Adorable and just all around fun.
This was the best bit of children in need this year👍😀

The cat from Dic and Dom?! Never thought I’d see him again. 🤣
Flew in from Stoke on Trent
Oucho and Marion really carried the tune.
Can’t believe bingo and cousin Mortimer are here haven’t seen them since basil brush show ended
I was shocked to see them.
Makes me kinda hope they just decide to do a reunion special while every other 2000s sitcom seems interested in doing the same.
I have no idea what I'm watching, but I'm intrigued.
Man this brings me back my childhood 👍🏆👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Would of loved to of seen Nobby The Sheep from Gimme 5 :)
❤❤ OMFG, Why am I crying happy tears! What awesome nostalgic flashback ❤❤
I genuinely didn’t expect the cat from in da bungalow to show up
My favourite out of all of them is and always will be Edd the Duck. The worst of it is that I'm in my late 60's and after watching this I'm still asking myself what I'd like to be when ( and if ) I grow up? :-)

It was really good to See Basil Brush , Zippy George and Bungle
One of these characters are WONDERFULLY GREAT!!!!! :)
Basil brush, Mr blobby , rainbow and otis the aardvark oh god memories ❤🔙
I've notice that Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Little Cousin Scampi aren't in this video which is a shame.
They were with ITV
No Sooty?! No Rosie and Jim?! Need to be bigger next year! 😂
I don’t think Sooty has the voice for this song…
@@dubbingsync he could play the drums though!
If its sooty u need sweep and soo aswell especially sweep
Because this sooty and roise & Jim not from BBC
@@tomgaydar A lot of the characters in this weren't from BBC shows (Zig & Zag, Milkshake Monkey, Bungle, Zippy & George etc)
Super cute! Haven't seen most of these characters for a very long time; I'm so happy they're still around! One of my favorite songs too!
also lol mongrels
Brilliant just brilliant 🤠
BASIL BRUSH, BINGO AND COUSIN MORTIMER!!! ❤❤🙏🙏
I am literally crying with laughter
Loved it especially seeing Zig and Zag and the controversial Mr Blobby.. would’ve been great if they could’ve used some others such as Rosie and Jim and Teletubbies
Teletubbies wasn't puppets tho maybe that's why they didn't use them and used Mr blobby for that joke haha
@Corrie Talks that would’ve been brilliant
Now let's see what they'll do for the CBBC channel's 20th anniversary.
Hopefully something huge. It would be deserved.
I loved this and some of them are from my childhood.
Some of these are from my childhood too
The only duo missing is Sooty and Sweep!
Ya 😢
It was nice Seeing all these puppets again
1:01 Gordon Bennett i haven't seen Otis in years
YEAHHHH OUCHO
A picture of Orville in the background between George and zippy at around 3 minutes 🥺
Ah man this was amazing!!! Zig and Zag are legendary!
Poor Mr blobby but to be fair he scares the crap out of me
They put Schofield in at the start so they can edit him out in the future
Oucho!
This video made me year. Actually cried laughing.
Oucho my boy
loving the inclusion o BBC 3s, Mongrels.
Would have been better if they'd included Vince from Mongrels 😂
@@davidpowell8249 that would be bad news for anyone who has not heard of vince from that show LOL
1:33 Nelson and Marion! XD
Otis, zippy and george were on weakest link puppet special together
You have comic relief, with comedians. Sports relief, with sports starts.
Would a charity fronted by puppeteers be called hand relief???
Brilliant 😍
HOLY SHIT YOU BROUGHT IN COUSIN MORTIMER AND BINGO BRUSH...
I mean, I kinda expect Basil due to his survival via panto. But to bring the characters from the old show back...
Time for a revival?
It's good to see Otis again, shame his singing coconuts weren't there, but I guess they busy or something

*STOKE-ON-TRENT!*
PURE GENIUS
Wow I had forgotten about some of those. There was at least 5 generations of characters there! Missed some though such as Sooty, Sweep and Sue (although I don’t think they were BBC characters) another one I would have liked to see nostalgia wise was Badger from Bodger and Badger
Don't forget bear from bear behaving badly
I miss the Mongrels and their gentle way of teaching.
I miss Vince Fox

The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit
I assume Roland Rat and Kevin were too occupied in LA to attend this session?
I love this song 😢
Oatis Blobby 🤩 my life as a 90s kid
👋Greetings across the pond from Buffalo, New York🎗
This is hilarious ❤
It's a pity Sooty , Sweep and Soo aren't there....
No Sootie and Sweep?
This is so funny!!! 🤣🤣😁
Zippy and George will never be the same, their voices are all wrong. RIP Roy Skelton.
Roland Rat? Sooty, Sweep and Soo? Nev and Keith?
Love this I wish they used Tamba from Tikkabilla loved him I named a cat after him I was two years old
Great line up, but for my generation a couple missing Roland Rat from morning t.v. and Gilbert the Alien from Saturday Get Fresh
Love this happy children in need day
Bit disappointed Nev wasn't in this
zig and zag
wow, nostaligic!
The Nerve on Phillip Scofield showing up in this!!!
After he ditched Gordon to further his Career.
Could of been Gordon doing This Morning.

Where are The Jingles? I love those three. Windy, Stringy, and Brassy, I love you all!
ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmazing
Wonderful
That's Fantastic
Hahaha love ❤ 😍 💖
It's too bad for Mr. Blobby who has arrived three hours late. Ah well, better luck next time, Mr. Blobby!
Great but Roland Rat & Harold would've been a great feature too
Wish Dogsbody from Cartoon Critters would appear as well plus they forgot Roland Rat and Emlin the Gremlin and Nev the Bear.
Basil got double billing!
Its so funny when i se this
❤❤❤❤❤
It's great to see all these puppets again. But i don't really care for the song they chose.
I wish Nev the Bear and Crazy Keith were featured
Love this!!
Does anyone know who's in the Bungle costume?
