this church has no idea how thankful they should be singing these songs. SO many Baptists have done away with this music and turned into a circus show on a stage with geetars and drums. Just a show to me really. I love these old hymns!

I feel bad for the 1700 years of Christian’s who never really worshipped because these kinds of songs hadn’t been written yet 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

I agree but just don’t go there but most importantly sing then at home

Yeah but this was 5 years ago. They have probably bought into the stage performance by now. 🤥

I used to sing this song at summer camp. Contemporary songs just can’t compare with these old, singable hymns!!

This was my pastor dad's favorite song. He hummed it all the time. He would love this singing & hate worship songs & orchestras. But dad is singing in Heaven & has his mansion.

Same here. I listen to KLOV a lot. It seems no different than a regular country network in format, basically trying to promote the artist. 😐

I shed a tear when I hear all of these old beautiful hymns. We haven't sang these hymns for many years at my baptist church. The beat and words of these hymns are motivational and have no comparison with the contemporary/modest music today.

this isn’t just a philosophy, but it is the truth, and it’s reality (john 14:6). GOD came unto the earth in the likeness of man and HE took the lowly position of a bondservant (philippians 2:7), not to be served, but to serve, and to give HIS Life as a ransom for many (matthew 20:28). we are not saved because of our own goodness/works, since no one is good (morally perfect), except One, that is, GOD (mark 10:18), but we are saved by the unmerited love and favor of the LORD through faith in HIM and what HE did for us (ephesians 2:4-5). every man is given all he needs to live a godly life through the knowledge of the LORD (2 peter 1:3). each and every one of us must confess of our sins to the FATHER, we must repent (acts 20:21), and we must strive to live our lives all to the glory of GOD in every aspect (1 corinthians 10:31). if we confess our sins, GOD is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 john 1:9). when you’re a new creation in CHRIST, old things pass away and all things become new (2 corinthians 5:17)!

    Verse 1
I'm satisfied with just a cottage below
A little silver and a little gold.
But in that city where the ransomed will shine
I want a gold one thats silver lined.
    Chorus
I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And someday yonder, we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are pure as gold.
    Verse 2
Though often tempted, tormented, and tested
And like the prophet, my pillows a stone
And though I find here no permanent dwelling
I know He'll give me a mansion my own.
    Verse 3
Don't think me poor or deserted or lonely
I'm not discouraged I'm heaven bound
I'm but a pilgram in search of the city.
    I want a mansion, a harp, and a crown.

Forgot these third rate rock bands and all this carney act that has infiltrated the Church. Congregational singing is the Biblically prescribed method of singing and worship through song.
