For the few M:tG creators that I watch, the best videos are always the collabs. I think this is becuase Magic has always been a social game where you not only play but also talk about the game and the cards. You share in the experience. While I love playing Arena and it is the only way I can play Magic these days, it can't simulate that shared experience on it own. So when a couple or more creators get together to play and we see all their reactions, it brings it back to the days of playing with freinds.
So great a match, Such great players. CGB may be winning the match, but LVD wins as a person. So much class, respect to the other player, not assessing, not addressing. There are not many such content creators there. For me he`s no. 1.
Damn... that was really exiting, please do that more often, I mean CGB vs. Legend with different decks, maybe also Brawl and other formats as well. In fact, I like seeing 3 games with sideboard as a change from the dominant 1:1 on Arena.
If he tormented his pact, he loses the chance to win the next turn by topdecking a harmless offering. He gains time, but let's go through what he'll need to win: another pact, he still needs to draw an offering anyway, and then at least another 4 turns for the pact to tick down. All while staring down 8 damage a turn (6/6 demon + 2 damage from annex), not counting any additional pressure CGB will play over the next few turns. Only way LVD wins from that spot if he loses the pact, is multiple godlike topdecks in a row. Better to bet on 1 lucky topdeck.
@@Aosih You could wait and torment the pact after seeing the last draw, at that point it's saving you from a guaranteed loss, but obviously that does open up the chance CGB might have had another discard and used it to take away the torment, and the boardstate is horrifically against you. Definitely at that point LVD didn't really have good options, it wasn't a great couple of draws leading up to it. :)
Great concept to bring streamers together, bit of feedback: the A/V doesn't have to be parallel, it could be made more 'cinematic' or conversational: use dialogue overlap to add suspense and intrigue, sometimes to suggest other "characters" know what each other are doing (for instance LVD's has a 'portentious prediction' and his audio could come in before you cut back to his side of the table - give audio space to dictate cuts (people won't get each voice mixed up once the gameplay starts); try using a fast transition (cross dissolve) between players; ask players not use a mascot or whatever the wee animals are (bit jarring for continuity when it jumps sides)... or even just key it out; on the point of increasing spatial continuity: it's not necessary for each player to be at either side, keep them on the same side (people watch magic videos for these extended periods of time want to relax, eye darting isn't fun); also, crop them to the same dimensions; for more continuity that take all the video/audio feeds into VMIX or something pro (live) so you can better frame players, balance audio/lighting, etc before recording. Treat it as a live stream rather that a post edit, it can still be edited and framed later once recorded. Just some feedback from an auld old 4th edition player who became a freelance livestream engineer/director/editor in later life. The A/V principles mentioned all seem to hold up in this context. Lovely to see this collaboration. Also, bring back Tim and Norrit to standard. Long live Tim.
4:09 In case anyone's wondering, the trick to accessing that 15th sideboard card is scrolling the list down with the mouse wheel. The sideboard UI is not amazing.
Cgb combo is creatures based while LGV combo is enchantment based which is superior since Rakdos has hard time dealing with enchantment but not creatures.
They probably recorded this video before that collab one. I would assume as well since they did this recording they decided to another one for their own channels
At :37, why are they saying they haven't had a video together in a few years? They just had the epic Brawl throwdown a month ago...? ("Finding the best Brawl deck")
@@LegenVD That makes sense. I realized when I watched the other video (Ash vs Jim), he mentioned the UPCOMING December release of Pioneer Masters, and it begs the question: Why did the MTGA official channel wait ~2 months to release great, well-received videos that are acting as promotional support for the Foundations release? (Also, please un-shadow-ban my account on your channel)
I hate cheesy combos and very much dislike Wizards for putting them in the game. I do not find value in winning or losing that way. But I guess if everyone else does think those things are fun, so be it.
Amazing content. More, more, more...the crowd chants.
These 1:1 show matches are actually very fun to watch. Hope you will do more in the future!
I love the way you edited this. So much better than a long unedited stream. More of these please!
LVD CGB provides a lot of value.
You provide a lot of value
0% vowels
100% value
This was the first time I've seen LVD on cams. It was cool to see him!
Looks like jim davis
Seeing LVD is amazing! So nice to put a face to his voice!
37:59 for those who don't follow CGB: he really did put mazemind tome in nearly every deck since then lol
"Onto the next one."
-LegenVD
Love his catchphrase. 😅
Best 2 content creators! Great to see LVD in a new realm
LVD fan here, I loved how cgb kept talking about value. He couldn't stop himself, it was hilarious
OMG great stuff you two are my favorite content creators I drop in and out of magic and always look forward to your guys videos ty
El encuentro que esperaba toda Latinoamérica unida.
GOOD (LegenVD) vs. Evil (CGB)
The two side analysis was a great new take on MTG content creation. Thank you both.
The crossover we've all been waiting for
Love seeing my two favorite MTG youtubers hash it out. Late Christmas gift
Best format on youtube. I know its alot of editing, but man i love this set up

This! Hell yeah. A couple of the best creators on the tube, great to see
Love to see LVD back in the content. Great showing.
A proper magic battle between two of my favourite youtubers. Great stuff

So much fun watching CGB's reaction on Game 2.
That was sick. Both playing lots of hand reveal and discard made it so they had to try and read each others minds.
A lot of fun (and value). I love the Bo3 too as the sideboard discussion is very insightful.
Damn... that was really exiting, please do that more often, I mean CGB vs. Legend with different decks, maybe also Brawl and other formats as well. In fact, I like seeing 3 games with sideboard as a change from the dominant 1:1 on Arena.
This is why you need golgari in Bo3. Enchantment removal, more man lands and Glissa.
I can’t love this matchup more. ❤. Also, phenomenal editing!
Nice! Very happy to see my two favorite MTG Arena content creators doing a video together.
Those were fun games. Looking forward for more of this kind of content
Seeing CGB on the pink side of the screen instead of the blue one is so confusing 😂
Why didn't lvd just torment his own pact to stay alive another couple turns to draw back into the game? Seemed like the only option to me

keep them coming, these 1v1 matches are so much fun.
love this format to see both, and the 2 best TH-camrs
Love it. Keep making great content by supporting the creators!

This is freaking awesome. I love this Bo3 between them.
I didn’t think I was gonna like this but it was awesome!

Awesome awesome awesome, looking forward to more of this kind of matches! Would be nice to see other creators as well
I love LVD. Goes into a somewhat official competition with Cat Pact!
I like seeing LVD! Much easier to relate when you can see the content creator. Wicked deck.
Why have I the sensation that this is going to be a demonic pact vs some nasty B control deck 😂?
That was great. I would love to see more!
LVD is so cute. I wish he would put his cam in videos more
Great chess match! We want more!
My two favorite creators!
CGB - Bloodthirsty Black VS LVD - Cat Pact, who will win? Place your bets here!
CGB - Bloodthirsty Black
LVD - Cat Pact
CGB shoulda played Blue/White control! haha would have been awesome to see in BO3
Best Contents Creators🔝
More of this please
please moooooore of this :)
Great stuff. Btw, I'd love to see these two on a pod. I'll have to go bother cgb
Amazing!
Really great format.
Demon on demon violence 🎉
MTG Malone catch phase 😆
didnt u guys play each other recently?
LVD looks a lot stressful than he sounds 😮
Why didn't LVD destroy demonic pact with Withering Torment on G3 to prevent losing? :/
Nice match! Very fun to watch! LvD could have used the torment to destroy his own pact to avoid certain death.
Cgb combo is creatures based while LGV combo is enchantment based which is superior since Rakdos has hard time dealing with enchantment but not creatures.
Y’all did the 99 same card deck battle a month or so ago
They probably recorded this video before that collab one. I would assume as well since they did this recording they decided to another one for their own channels
Glad i got to put a face to the name, legend indeed
At :37, why are they saying they haven't had a video together in a few years? They just had the epic Brawl throwdown a month ago...? ("Finding the best Brawl deck")
This was recorded close to two months ago.

Mono black!
Love you both
awesome.
LVD lost but he got CGB to admit rotation is good and endorse standard
The two titans
great content and bo3 is awesome
Couldn’t lvd have tormented his own pact to survive?
They just had a 1-1 about a month ago 😂😂
This was enjoyable 👀
love it when you to play together
Face reveal. 😀
LVD my bro
Great Creators!
No bullshit, you two have done some videos together recently. No copy limit brawl as I remember
Still no Decklists... y. >_
lvd my goat
On match 3 LVD could have destroyed his own demonic pact instead of killing the 6/6 token.
The greatest 3 letters in Magic TH-cam??? What about J I M???
I hate cheesy combos and very much dislike Wizards for putting them in the game. I do not find value in winning or losing that way. But I guess if everyone else does think those things are fun, so be it.
Value
But CGB…
CGB CGB CGB CGB CGB CGB CGB CGB
!
I mean no disrespect with this question but does LVD have parkinsons? Obviously none of my business just concerned is all.
OMG ill be watching this! Best MTG content hands down
boring same 2 cards game
