My EAOS was in treasure Island or yerba Buena Island. Same place in the middle of Oakland Bay bridge between Oakland Bay and San Francisco. In my opinion at the time they had the best firefighting school there. I went there twice and it was incredible experience I think Steven Spielberg owns most of it now where he makes his Star wars movies. They hinged ship compartments and there's no way you could stop the sea from coming in. They would open valves and every time we sunk the ship but it was fun. You learn k type shoring and pipe shoring with rope and every type of fire extinguisher in every application as a boiler technician you had to know. A3f pkp c02 halon and others aboard the ship when operating a large ship steam plant. While knowing your life can end in a couple of seconds. The price of freedom is found 300 miles at sea knowing you can't swim back if that were possible.

The dunker is no shit the easiest training alot of me and my guys did. The treading seems harder but it looks like the gear floats.

Got out of the Dunker pretty easy. The treading was no joke... and the gear definitely didn't float.

Long easy strokes and relax........ 15 mins of treading in full flight gear sucked...
Then the transition to floating... that was fun....

Too easy...now if one was to wear Aircrew CBR gear then I could see it being a wee bit more challenging.
