everyone making the excuses for Jannik for losing, "oh he was unwell, otherwise he would have creamed medvedev," etc... its his job to be well, if he lost, its because he didn't prepare properly while Medvedev did prepare properly, Medvedev beat him! fair and square, the best in the world are supposed to win even when they aren't performing 100% and plan A isn't working, then go to plan B, C, D, .... all the way to plan Z. If Jannik only has one game plan, to rely on his athleticism, then guess what, Medvedev is gonna figure him out bitches!
He's just not good enough and no one wants to admit it so they start coming up with excuses for him whenever he loses. Many players have managed to win a GS or make it to #1, and that's not a sign of greatness. The player that's actually a legend in the making is Alcaraz. Full stop.

Good match, but Sinner wasn't himself. Missed a lot of forehands in the net that he commonly would make, unforced. Injury/sickness must have been a factor. Good play by Daniil though.

I hoped, that this year WTA/ATP/ITF, would stop this nonsense of mixing sport with politics.
Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth.
Appointing "flag police" at tennis tournaments is not even childish... it was embarrassing and insane...
Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen.
Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag?
USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq.
Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them.
Interestingly enough Israeli tennis players Mika Buchnik and Guy Sasson are allowed to play under the national flag in AO 2024 despite the policy of their government towards Palestinians in Gaza.
