One of mine too. Leslie and Cleveland have been together for decades now, and they still sound wonderful. Who else is in the group? Bernard Jones was the bass for many years but that doesn't look like him (of course, time passes...).

Yup that classic modern day Dubs group is down to Cleve and Leslie. Spider Truesdale has passed and unfortunately BJ's health had gone down and has been out for past few years. He was the best out there hands down. However Cleveland now uses Don Raphael on bass, a long time pro in his own right, from multiple groups with the Velours (80's 90's) being the real name act. And Tito Santiago of the Eternals works with them at times too on tenor

@DOOWOP ESPO I've watched this two more times. It's one of the few records I bought from an auction when I was a teenage collector in the late 70s. On top of that, in the early-mid 80s on a visit "back home" to Long Island, I stumbled over an ad that the Dubs were singing at a restaurant not too far away. It was SO cool (this is when there were 5 of them). Thank you for the current information. Concur on BJ. And Tito is excellent. I'm just grateful for every additional day we have these treasures in our world.

@@dangreenfield8384 Glad you diggin this one and the Dubs in general, a legit pioneer vocal group. I do remember in the 80's they had a fifth member..I believe Steven Brown. Gotta be a shill and hope to turn you on to another video I captured from a few years back, if you hadn't seen it yet... type in "The Dubs Wherever You Are". A rare live version but more important its really at the tail end of Bernard sadly. I got to know a bunch of his hang out spots on some Manhattan street corners over time, and could count on him being there...singing doing his thing. always friendly and more than cordial when I'd stop to talk.

@@espokev Steven Brown is correct. He and Spider were in some version of the Charts and they did a great version of Desiree when I saw them. I remember I ordered one beer and one soda and drank them very slowly, so they wouldn't throw me out; it took a few days for the smile to wear off. I've been very, very fortunate and privileged to see and meet many groups in the last 45 years, at UGHA on trips north, or performing on the beach music circuit in North Carolina where I lived and worked (in radio) in the 80s and 90s, and several great shows in Georgia where I am now.

@@dangreenfield8384 Sadly about 3 weeks ago, it became known that BJ had passed. Even more saddening is that he passed around a year ago. He didn't have family other then his mom who passed a few years back herself, thats when he started his decline. Not a bad word said about the man by anybody

It's Sad knowing John Truesdale and BJ have passed, hopefully someone finds out what happened to the rest of the original group!

    • @espokev

Pretty certain Cleveland is the last man standing of the original group, he's 88 years young now and they continue on. Very sad that BJ and Spider are gone, that was the classic Dubs group since 1985. Even during the modern years when Richard Blandon had his version going, and being the original lead, they still really couldn't compete. And when Richard passed around '91 brother Daryl took over and that didn't go far either.

@@espokev I researched a bit more, Billy Carlisle passed In May 1996 and Tommy Grate passed In 2018.
I haven't been able to find anything about James/Jake Miller because his name is very common.
