I love how Kevin asked the genie for peace of mind, and proceeds to be confused by how the dude keeps feeling great despite his torture 😂 never dissapoints

That kinda defeated the point of this video though... like the dude never really reacted to being tortured essentially, cause he was always happy.
Right, it permanently puts you in platinum aspiration for the rest of your life. If you fulfill a fear it will temporarily drop, but every hour it will reset back to platinum.
kevin has made such a habit of torturing himself with challenges that he's just doing it subconsciously now

Turns out, wishing on a genie for "peace of mind" gives permanent platinum mood. I imagine this also indirectly affects wants?
No, it doesn't affect the wants rolled. It just maximizes the aspiration meter into platinum for the rest of your life. If you fulfill a fear it will temporarily drop, but every hour it will reset back to platinum.

@@danitho almost two years ago he did a "simulating Christmas 2020 in the sims" stream where he played in this neighborhood and set the seasons to always be winter here. That's also where Brandi Broke came from. She died back then

Sometime a family can be three zombies, a dead kid and...a volleyball? There's nothing more chaotic and cursed than Kevin playing Sims, and it's one of my favorite things in the world.

I think it was the genie wish "peace of mind" that caused him to always stay in platinum. Regardless, I think the video turned out way better than if he was just miserable this way

This just goes to show how Kevin is a philosophical genius!
The permanent platinum mood (which is apparently a genie thing, if you've somehow not read any of the other comments) reminds me of a bug in some of the Sims 3 expansions where certain moodlets didn't properly clear their full effect on the mood (like gaining the moodlet would give you +30 mood but losing it would only subtract 25, leaving you with a permanent +5 mood), which made it so that if a game went on long enough your sim would be stuck at maximum positive mood no matter what you did.
Finally, the balance of the universe is restored. It felt weird when Kevin did something good without fecking something else up.

recently was diagnosed with a chronic pain condition, and started nerve block treatment for it, and i sat here watching this video laughing to myself. it’s been a long time since it didn’t hurt to laugh, and i’m so glad that kevin’s video is the one to make me realize this. i’ve been subscribed since the beginning of high school, when my chronic pain started, and i’m 23 now, finally getting treatment, and finally getting even more joy out of watching his videos ❤

Such a deep philosophy with this series. High Maintenance did everything he wanted but ended up unemployed, got married with great difficulty, had to be a criminal and had to face issues to get a child. Meanwhile, I-Hate-My-Life chased his fears willingly, became a politician, got a home with an elevator, bought a helicopter, had a perfect wife and a kid... (imma ignore career change, divorce, neglect, zombie etc cause no matter what, he was happy)

Honestly i hate wasn't even the one with the worst life in the family. Unwanted was, like the name says, unwanted and through his name constantly reminded of it. He spend his time as a baby stinking and starving in a corner, when he was old enough to comprehend his situation both his parents died and came back as Zombies, but not before being rejected from Private school. He did go to school, but was most likely builled for his terrible appearance while messages confirm his constant hope for a better life. When things were looking like they couldn't get worse, he died. The last thing that really sucks is that he was instantly replaced by a new child and his Father, who is the cause of all his problems is as content and happy as ever.
The phone wasn't even plugged in when he used it to summon the party dog. No one understands their bond, but it runs deep.
This video is no surprise, I mean Kevin is the living embodiment of fear after all.

Even though it was the Genie I like the Idea of everybody else going into life expecting it to be a 5 star hotel and "I hate my life" just went into life expecting it to be a prison and he got exactly what he expected and so was always content.
The fact that this is the happiest a Sim of his has ever been hilarious.

i'm not sure i've EVER failed a regular woohoo in this game, it normally doesn't show up as a clickable option until you reach 70% on the lifetime relationship meter - at which point they will be agreeable to most romantic interactions regardless of chemistry or other factors.
I thought the headmaster was just going to get into bed with him. Would have been one way to butter the guy up

Brandi died in a streaming of Kevin's Christmas in 2020. The video is called "I tried to recreate Christmas 2020 and this happened" (not the exact name).
Kevin killed that Brandi Broke character in the Christmas livestream two years ago. Didn't realize he's kept the same save file all this time

Horror story where someone gets a wish granted for peace of mind but everything they've ever worried about comes true... But no matter what it doesn't bother them. Somewhere, from the back of their mind, they watch with horror as their life falls apart and yet still they show no outward signs of being bothered. Their family begs them to care, to show any kind of compassion or support, yet they never stop cheerfully going about their business. Terrifying.

I remember a guy from Cracked did this a few years back.
Went out of his way to torture his sim, trapped him in a 1by1 hall of mirrors for sleep, put the only access to food for a hydrophobic sim at the other end of a swimming pool, ect.
His char died by setting the house on fire and getting trapped due to fear. On loading up a new house with the sim he did nothing but dig through the garbage for 7 days and then drown himself
