You know so much about the game that talking about it for beginners is probably impossible. A newbie like myself can learn a bit here, but I feel there is still a long road ahead to become actually good at the game. Thanks Doofus.
Oathbreaker can still leak less than 10% of the time to a snail if it gets really bad rng with it's targeting. Just because you haven't seen it leak, doesn't mean it can't. I have done the testing with it. Elite Archer opens (which are uncommon) also leak to snail despite its high value of 145. Whileshroom/Windhawk/Gateguard are the trifecta of leakers to snail. All that being said it seems like it's generally a poor gamble to go snail on 1, and it's definitely a bad habit to always send snail on 1 (people will know that you do that, and will play accordingly). At the least you need to be able to diversify your range, sometimes king upping, sometimes holding (you can always still get the income for wave 2 by snailing for wave 2 anyways, and more things leak to double snail on 2 than they do to snail on 1, and it can also delay them from getting that extra worker that a snail would have allowed them to get on 1, thus slightly reducing the pressure your team will be facing), with maybe an occasional snail to keep them honest Lizard Army- Also is 45 mythium on top of the lizard for 11. Sending Ghost Knight into Zeus is actually perfectly fine. Since their main attack is impact, it is heavily resisted by both the Ghost Walker passive and the swift defense. The magic damage nuke is completely unresisted but it's still just neutral damage versus the Ghost Knight. Now buffed with 4000 hp for its 240 mythium cost, it's a perfectly solid send against Zeus heavy dps. Now against Disciple's/Starcaller it is much much worse, since they deal pierce damage with their base attack(+20%) and then their Pure nuke punishes the ghost knight. @17:10 "I have fallen prey to sending alot of Dt's of late, and honestly its not working as well as you'd think" Well, it's not as good as you think. It's arcane defense is poor unless against certain magic heavy units (pota, azeria, flowers, vs deathcap on 11, etc). It's also the counterpart to lizard (all but surely the worst mercenary in the game), so expecting miracles from it is foolish. A few other things you missed were Mimic on 10 (or 7), especially agains t1 spam like rats/buzz and the like. Not discussing Shaman was a bit unfortunate, since that is usually the most important send past mid game. Also wanted to cover 4eyes more. Basically the approach to a mercenary guide is to go through the mercenaries and discuss when they are relevant, what they shine against etc. Wasn't bad though for a first stab at it.
Yea I missed a ton this is a video where I was out of my comfort zone as you know my sends are not great. I think if I do the video again I might do it as a twitch thing so that there can be a discussion and people like you can add to my missed send strats
@@DoofusMcdoofaceStreaming Yup you can emulate how Flight does it, where he makes guide videos on his stream in order to upload it to ytube. Either way works. Can also just have a few main bullet points before hand to cover so you don't get "lost" and know which points you want to cover, next time you want to do a video like this.
this is good just subscribed. im tryna learn more about this game and theres not alot of content i feel like this was what alot of people needed i think good job
This video is pretty good, however, I feel like its still not a video for beginners. You are just telling us what to send instead of why. As a new player understanding the WHY is way more important then the WHAT. Maybe go into depth on why you are sending what so that beginners like myself can be more knowledgeable on the decisions we make in regards to sending on an opponent. Just a critique though. Overall, it's nice to see someone trying to explain and teach this game :)
