I scored some wheaten bottles in the past. Realizing they aren’t worth much-I made a mini southern bottle tree and use them for plant propagation in a sunny window where they actually look kinda pretty!🌿
I was cringing when you piled all of those bags of bottles onto the canvas painting. They are so easily stretched out of shape.
A rooster on wheels…. WHEELS?!? That gave me a chuckle!! 😂 Sad about its condition. Definitely a thrift haul today though 👍🏻
Always like learning so was going to look up magnifying thing but asked my husband first and he knew exactly what it was - Vintage spotlight. Confirmed and now hope to find one in the wild. 😄
Please test the paint for lead on the Tonka Dune Buggy before letting Laural play with it.
It looks vintage. Andrew or his brother may know more about it. She may end up wanting to sell it instead of letting Laurel play with it.
That silver thing with the magnifying glass is for a candle. The magnifing glass intensifies the light.
The mini Wheaton bottles are pretty plentiful so sometimes they don't get that much "respect" but they ARE examples of good old-fashioned Made in America glassware, made in Millville, New Jersey and found in lots of gorgeous glass colors! Beautiful in a sunny window. I think most were made in the 1970s or 1980s so they are definitely getting some AGE to them!! :-) As the years pass I think they will become more and more popular!!
I am from Argentina. The "cups" at the start of the video that said Bariloche on the bottom are from Bariloche, Argentina which is a town on the Andes Mountains. Those are to drink mate out of, our national drink. (we use a special metal straw)
The pink depression glass 12” salver plate is MacBeth Evans (1930-36) ‘American Sweetheart’. The old purple glass inkwell font has Manganese in it.
Hi Jocelyn❤ Thanks for taking us treasure hunting at Goodwill, YOU are a treasure😘
At 10.00 mark it's a old Medical parabolic magnifying candle lamp there were 350.00$ 400.00$ or more antique
LOL!! And here I was lamenting the fact that I haven't found any mini Wheaton bottles for months! My Grandma had a small collection of these, and they now decorate my windows. 🙂 What I love is that Wheaton was making reproductions of their OWN bottles that they originally made over a hundred years ago.
I love Gingersnaps! And gingerbreadboy cookies at Christmas. My dad and I were the only ones who liked those cookies. I miss him everyday! Good memories!
Hi Jocelyn, I know that the 9:53 Candle Sconces with the Magnifier are pretty popular. So when you said that you didn’t want to buy it because you were worried about it being a fire hazard. I decided to look it up. I know it was priced at $24.49, but I believe the reason why is there are a few listed as rare from $100-$625. I believe the reason the magnifier kills the ant is because of the heat from the sun. I don’t believe small candles get that hot. I’m truly not trying to be mean. So please don’t block me. God bless & have a great day💐
❤this didn’t sound mean at all ❤ it’s not mean when you say there is one listed for $600 😂
I think the magnifier makes the light from the candle brighter to add more light in a room. 😊
Those Wheaton bottles would be cool hanging on a Christmas tree, especially a white one.
The magnifying glass sconce is
Vintage Medical Optical Candle Wall Sconce Magnifying Glass Parabolic Reflector
Sells high really well.
At 9.57 that is an early 20th century parabolic reflector candle holder wall sconce. Saw one on Chairish.
Great finds lots of amazing treasures ❤Love the artwork. Those plates are very pretty. I love the patterns . Thanks for sharing your story ❤️ have a wonderful time, treasure hunting .😊
Another one of my favorites! Goodwill shop with me. I just love to see what treasures you find that aren't guaranteed. Thanks Jocelyn!
I LOVE the persimmon colored Viking glass!
The metal wall sconce candle holder w/reflector and magnifying glass is worth quite a bit
Thank you so much for doing more Goodwill videos recently. ❤
I just love it when you manage to fill your cart with treasures. 😊
That TONKA dunes buggy was nostalgic and so worth the shopping trip! Nice you snagged it!
Major scores!!! Those shelves were so packed!!!
Loved that Viking glass. The colour is fantabulous
So so happy to see you back at GW❣️😊❤
You seem to have amazing luck at Goodwill. Good for you! 😊
I'm super glad you got the authentic Larry bowl! ❤
My eBay sales these last 2 weeks have tanked. Don’t know why. But Watching your videos makes me feel so much better about it. 😂❤
We are all glad that you went to the Goodwill!
Gotta love this haul!
I love the small glass Christmas tree.
Back in the early 70's, I bought several sets of the Wheaton miniatures as I was always fascinated by glass. The colors were amazing. I have no idea what happened to them. I now collect glass myself and have learned a lot from Jocelyn!
I shop here all the time, a lot of the items you touched, I did too, but put them back! So, I’m learning!❤️
My Grandma always had ginger snaps , I loved them ❤.
So many great finds!
I adore a good gingery ginger snap! My current faves are Midel. Not too sweet...
The magnifying light its totally safe and battery candles are perfect. That was very expensive new
Great walk through. Love the vase you found in the bin. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Love the Lennox bowl at 18:15 and at the beginning of the video!!
Hall superior orange poppy is the pattern of covered casserole. Red poppy pattern has black in it. Still great piece. I use my old hall superior at thanksgiving for casseroles. Great in the oven
Not strange at all about the Wheaton bottles....he'll I'm just excited to watch the shopping and all the stuff in the shops!
Hi Jocelyn, the places you go hunting are awesome! Here around New Orleans we get the leftovers once the employees pick through the good stuff, or they price items at retail + . I am happy to say I will embark on a week long trip through Mississippi, Arkansas and Missouri which is where I"ve always found great deals.
Great haul! You have such an incredible eye for great stuff!
My dad loved ginger snaps….talk about nostalgia!❤❤
I made it to West Patrick Street last Tuesday and had a magical time. I couldn't believe the things I found.
Everything was 25% off!
It made the drive from Northern Virginia worth it!
Those cups remind me of the Mexican hot chocolate cups I’ve seen in the past. They’re quite a bit smaller than regular coffee mugs of today.
That was an awesome trip!
Haha loved the Gloria lady..I never find anything with my name on it lol and yes my name is GLORIA LOL
That metal thing with the magnifying glass is pre-electricity lighting. It hangs on the wall. Stick a candle on the spike and point the magnifying glass at where you want the strongest light.
I agree - that moon & star gave me the creeps too!
The wall sconce. Is a Parabolic Magnifying candle Wall Sconce which is used in medical offices.
I think the yellow car was an old Barbie dune buggy! I had one.
Me too! That brought back memories of Malibu Barbie from the early 1970s 😂
You left behind the glass tree in a box…it was near the light green vase with the broken handle. In my area they sell for $20-25
There hasn't been GW hauls like this one in a long while!
That was fun to watch!
6:00 I love this Italian Pottery Brand. It is so elegant.
Sending you love from central Oregon!
The Wheaton bottles are fun. The smalls do pretty well for me at bottle shows. But I have never seen that many in one haul.
And cool .. that was a Barbie dune buggy from the 70s . Originally came with a pop-up camper
I actually liked the Donut on the plate, would like that in my kitchen,id add more fake cakes to it😀👍🍩..Loved what you bought as always❤
The Little Yellow Cup with the small opening top looks like they be good for kids
Great score on the Wheaton bottles! Loved the tip on the poison ones!
Love The Christmas Tree.
Everybody wang Chung tonight! Love the shrimp dishes!❤❤😂👍🏻👍🏻
Cute Cracker Jack sailor doll right at beginning of video. I have seen the ads to buy them but never saw one in the wild
Love your videos my friend!! You are such a sweet person!! I love seeing what you find at the thrift stores!! You are so awesome!! Much love my friend!! ❤️🥰💙💜🌺💖🦋🦋💕💕🙏🙏💜💜❤️❤️❤️
Great finds today!🎉
You can have a Wheaten bottle whatnot sale
What a great day at Goodwill!!
VIKING ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love everything you get but every time I go thrifting, Viking Glass is what I'm really hoping for 😍
I like the Siamese dancer and the random fishes. Lol.
9 out of 10 times that I go thrifting I find nothing, but it is the treasure I find that 1 time that keeps me going back...
Wow! Awesome job!! Good eye ❤California
Loved the video ❤.
10:02 my love, no, only the sun has that power through a magnifying glass to start a fire. You can't start a fire with candlelight through a magnifying glass. ;)
The shelves were chock full!❤️
That Goodwill sure is packed!
I am from Millville, NJ, where the Wheaton bottles were made! If you ever want the larger ones, I have some!!
I think that magnifying glass thing is a pillar candle holder. The magnifying glass concentrates the sunlight onto the wick to light the candle. Or maybe I just made that up and it's only a dangerous piece of decor, lol
I thought it was to magnify the light from the candle for brighter light.
The blue and white plate at 18:24 might (might!!) be a recent import because several years ago (within the last 15 years or less) I saw a sales booth in a flea market (or stock in an import store) that was piled with tons of brand new blue and white pottery that was made to imitate the "look" of older authentic blue and white from the 19th century. It was made in China or somewhere in Asia. The "look" of the designs was slightly "muddy" (can't think of a better word) as if it was trying to be "Flow Blue" but it wasn't. And the reverse has a "clean" pristine look on it that looks very recent. Some pieces were quite large, such as basins or chamberpots and such, besides various shapes of plates, bowls, etc.
Holy cow that was great!
I’m jealous of the wheaten glass!!
So jealous!! We have nothing as good as this in the UK x
The metal dome with the spyglass on it, did you not see the candle holder? It's for night or storms when you use electricity & need light. The magnifying glass brighton's the candle for greater light. 😊
What a haul and 17 bags of Wheaton bottles! ❤❤❤
So glad I found your channel - it's been so much fun watching your videos and then playing "what would CLL buy?" at the thrift store 😂😂
Get all of the good stuff!
I love Gloria!!
Wow you found A LOT of good items. 😊
I want to buy those stamp glasses!!! 😊
We sure don’t have the great selection of great stuff at the goodwills around here. What scores!
I do very well on the vanity set, even if it’s just one I’m not a whole set, not online, but in my booth, they always sell, I would’ve picked that up for four dollars and listed it for 15 at my booth
I can't believe you left the donut plate student art Pottery. It was only $1.49!!
I collect student art!
Mmmm ginger snaps,my moms favorite!🤪
Vintage Tonka toys sell very well in the UK. I have actually sold one of those beach buggies unfortunately I can't remember for how much!😊
You should put the Wheaten bottles in your booth as smalls. People love buying smalls like Kate. $5 a piece or 2/$5 I'd bet theyd sell.
If you hang that metal sconce on the wall and have the magnifying glass turned so it spreads the light from the candle instead of concentrating it then you get more light and not a fire, lol. It looked like a contemporary version of a very old (colonial or before) idea.
Agreed, many times these were used to concentrate candle light to view a slide on microscope
The colorful Ceramica Bariloche cups are made in Argentina. 😊💛
Danville Ky is opening up a glass art museum. Local and National glass art. Hope you can visit!
9:57 is a vintage candle illuminator (they used to use them to light the house... kind of like a lamp) i learbed about them from storage wars
Yes! They have sold on eBay for $150 or more. And as long as they aren't in the sun I see no hazard to them.
