When I was posted in Fort, Mumbai, almost routinely had food there twice a week.
It was just awesome. Everything prepared so delicately, that only a person with extremely fine sense & understanding would know its value.
Food is not at all fancy. Ekdum asli Indian style. Not sure about others, but IMHO would beat Rajdhani by several miles.

Personally, always went on jogging from Marine Drive to Charni Chowpatty, just to eat their steaming hot, piping idlis with chutney..

थोड बिर्याणीविषयी....
बिर्याणी हा पर्शियन शब्द असून बिरीयन या नावापासून याची उत्पत्ती झाली. बिरीयन म्हणजे कुकींगच्या आधी फ्राय करून वनवलेला पदार्थ. पर्शिया म्हणजे आत्ताचा इराण देश. मुघलांनी बिर्याणी हा पदार्थ भारतात आणला. मुघलांच्या शाही मुदपकखान्यातून बिर्याणी केली जायची आत्ता ती भारतीयांच्या घराघरात बिर्याणी आवडीने खाल्ली जाते. १५९३-१६३१ याकालखंडात शाहजहान बादशाहीची बेगम मुमताज ( जिच्या स्मरणार्थ ताजमहाल बांधला गेला) ही देखील बिर्याणीची शौकीन होती. तिच्या कल्पनेतून बिर्याणी या डिशचा उगम झाला असाही काहीजणांचा दावा आहे. मुघल शासक बाबर याच्या आगमनापूर्वीही बिर्याणी भारतीयांना माहीत होती असाही काही इतिहासकारांचा दावा आहे.
मटण, चिकन, अंडी, फिश, प्रॉन्स तसेच शाकाहारींसाठी व्हेज बिर्याणी असे बिर्याणीचे अनेक प्रकार आहेत. भात हा मुख्य घटक सर्व प्रकारच्या बिर्याणीत असतो. विविध मसाले, पदार्थात मुरवून बिर्याणी केली जाते.
