I would be a little cautious about these controllers for dedicated iPad gaming. My friend and I got the N30 Pro, the SN30 Pro, and the SN30 Pro Plus and tried and tested them and connected and disconnected over and over with an iPad Pro 2018 and iPad Air 2019: they remain to have extreme lag for most games we tried. I found if you directly connect them to your iPad by wire, they do better. Otherwise, for PC gaming that we tried, they were amazing. I contacted 8BitDo about them, they said they are supported but I seriously could not get them to be worth playing with. I don't know if you guys have different experiences. DualShock and Xbox controllers have been amazing for us. I was really disappointed when these didn't work well at all regardless of latest software updates on the iPad and controllers. I got them for on the go gaming, but looks like they will be staying in the drawer. I came to post this because I got the controllers after these videos but I found they didn't work so smooth. Hope this helps. I am open to feedback.
This is so true I have the very first version of this controller. Every time I press a button the latency is so slow and does not keep up. I thought it was retroarch itself. So I tested a DualShock 4 controller and no lag at all. Butter smooth. I really wanted these controllers to work for real smh
BROOOOO THANK YOU! I’ve had the sn30 pro for a couple years and never got it to work with the older iPads. This air 4 I just got would work but only thru usbc. Thank you for showing this trick man🙏 Huge thanks
Hello! I recently bought a bulutus 8bitdo sn30 pro gamepad but I don't know how to activate the gerescope how do I activate the gerescope? please help thank you.
Hi. Can this SN30 pro fit well in the tomtoc padfolio that you also reviewed? will it not cause the joycon to drift? hoping for your kind response. thank you!
Songii Pruitt it should do. Because call of duty doesn’t specify exactly which controller you need to use. It just says ‘controller’. And seeing as this controller works with iPad Os it should work
I did both options that you did in the video and my controller won’t connect to my iPad :( I tried to see if it would connect with my switch (in case I had a defective controller) and it did connect. For some reason it won’t connect to my iPad Edit: I have a 7th gen iPad
Omg thank you so much. You’re the best you tuber in the world. Also does it work with normal games not from Apple Arcade like Real Racing or Asphalt or Call of Duty
Hey what is the input lag like on the ipad when connected bluetooth vs USB-C? I'm interested for fortnite because the ps4 controller on iPad lag is about 0.5 second (bad) and i want to get a controller that doesnt have a half second lag.
So i bought this and have been trying it on Fortnite Mobile on an iPad Pro 2018. Input lag is very responsive, on par with consoles and even better when connected via USB C wired. Would recommend 10/10
yoooo thank you for this video I've been looking on youtube for hours and I found this awesome video. I finally found a controller that doesn't have a ton of bad reviews on amazon lol. keep up the tech videos bro
I just got Dead Cells for iPad Pro. Was hoping the 8bitdo lite would work with it, but it seems(?) it doesn’t because it doesn’t have “real” analog sticks. I know PS and Xbox controllers work with the game. Does this controller work with Dead Cells? Thanks for your content!
So sadly I doubt the SN30 Pro will work with it, I say that having the N30 Pro 2 and it does not work with Dead Cells. It works perfectly with all of the Final Fantasy games, as well as Castlevania, but not with Dead Cells. I'm not completely sure why but my guess would be that it has something to do with however they ported the inputs over for iOS. Oddly though the controller works perfectly with my Switch and playing Dead Cells on that.
GnarlyMatt thanks for the reply. I bought the SN30 Pro. Great little controller, just like the lite... and it doesn’t work with Dead Cells on iOS. Sent which ever of the two companies that owns Dead Cells now and they said that there are several controllers that they are making a list of to be capable. Now... only time will tell.
@@JarradShaw I meant to mention in my first comment, if you have a PS4 then you can use that controller on the iPhone/iPad and Dead Cells does work with that one. It's just not my go to because of it's size, it's not friendly to travel with like the 8BitDo controllers.
I bought this controller off of amazon & I tried to connect it with my iPad mini 5 & it doesn’t work.. idk if there’s a difference between snail run and 8bitdo especially if they sell the same controller..

This is a valuable comment - viewers would appreciate a reply @average tech guy
Thanks for your sharing! I've been considering to get a SN30 pro+, so you commented 3 months ago, I wonder if this lag thing is getting any better?
8bitdo does have a website for button mapping and firmware versions and updates. Not 100% sure but latency issue may be fixed or able to fix.

almost got one. good thing that I saw this comment first

I just bought this exact controller. Hoping Dead Cells and the newest Shadowgun: War Game will support better controller support and this controller.
Great video man. Thank you
Does it work for call of duty mobile / other non Apple Arcade games?
Hi. Can this SN30 pro fit well in the tomtoc padfolio that you also reviewed? will it not cause the joycon to drift? hoping for your kind response. thank you!
According with website this model is not compatible with iPad/ iPhone , I can’t understand it
Does it still work with iPadOS 13.4? And will the SF30 Pro also work with the iPad Pro?
that would be sweet! would love to play gta on ipad with fc30pro
But does it work with Call of Duty, Though!??

Does it work on your iPhone cell? What buttons you were pressing ?

I tried to see if it would connect with my switch (in case I had a defective controller) and it did connect. For some reason it won’t connect to my iPad
Edit: I have a 7th gen iPad
The best retro controllers i love them
The controller only connects for a split second before it disconnects. What do I do?
i have the sn30proplus and its named dualkshock 4 wireless controller?
mine also. and it also does not work on my ipad air 2018
I’d love to know more games that I can play with my new 8bitdo controller. Like a needle in a electric haystack, lol
Does anyone know how to connect the S and 30 Pro to be able to play Call of duty zombies on the iPad or iPhone
But does it work with iOS game ..?
Omg thank you so much. You’re the best you tuber in the world. Also does it work with normal games not from Apple Arcade like Real Racing or Asphalt or Call of Duty
Yusuf Khan A lot of games are starting to support controllers. Like COD does support it and I’m not sure about racing games but they should work.
Thank you for the very informative video.
BTW, can we connect two controller simultaneously with the m1 iPad for multiplayer?
Yes you can
Why cannot connect to my ipad...still loading, do you have solution ?
could you try mobile legends on ipad? thanks

Is that controller will work with call of duty mobile (iPad)?
Still works the same after iPadOS 14? Without any lag?
Can they work on roblox or any racing games

GnarlyMatt thanks Matt. I figured it did. Nice to get verification. Yeah it isn’t but... I may break down and just play it at home.
@@JarradShaw I know it’s been 2years, any update on whether dead cells works on iPad/iOS with this controller? Thanks

Great review very informative
does this work on iphone ios?
Probably not
Hej 150 it does
@@Steven-ol7wv ok
No problems for Android. :)
Does this work with Mario kart tour????? Could you possibly do a video on it?
can i play pubg with this?
This method does not work anymore because 8bitdo is no longer supported.
The first method does work (just going to the Bluetooth settings), the controller disguises itself as a DualShock 4.
Daniel Ristic You’re right, just tried it today, works.
Daniel Ristic did you have some some input lag with it? I tried cod but it is unplayable with the lag
Benjamin Grandt did you have input lag issues? Tried cod mobile and it is unplayable
@@soultaker432 No noticeable lag for me, did you update the gamepad to the latest firmware?
Jeez how many bluetooth things this yt has
8 bit dough
Pairing unsuccessful
Please, do you know if the rumble feature works in emulators, like OpenEmu?
Yes it works on emulators fine
