This 1984 song belonging to the Romanian hard rock band Iris is the only rock ballad that appears on group's debut album, "Iris I" - the first heavy metal disc in Romania. After more than 20 years since its releasing, many fans still require this great and deep love ballad to be played in concerts. Written by ex-Iris guitarist Ion Olteanu in early 80's, "The Night" has a brilliant guitar solo and, in the same time, a well-inspired structure. The lyrics follow the romantic theme of the deserted artist, who knows that the ideal love will never appear on his "road" through life. The lyrics have both mythological and urban elements. This video contains a live performance of "The Night", recorded at the second edition of "Stufstock" Festival, held in 2004. This festival may be the Romanian equivalent of "Woodstock" and has the purpose to save the specific bohemian spirit from Vama Veche, a resort located on the Romanian sea side and a meeting place for "genuine music" fans. In 2004, many well-known Romanian bands voluntarily performed on "Stufstock" stage: Iris, Cargo, Celelalte Cuvinte, Zob, Semnal M, Trooper, Lună Amară, Viţa de Vie, Kumm, Urma, etc.
