It's always been crazy to me to think that even if Vultures can handle eating decomposing bodies, How does the smell & taste not bother them? Same goes for a Sloth eating human poo in a outhouse. How can you handle that even if you don't get sick?
A species' perception of taste and smell vary depending on what they can and can't eat. We find things disgusting to prevent us from eating it and getting sick. So these animals just don't find it disgusting. It might smell and taste quite appealing to them.
Vultures, e.g, have a highly specialized digestive system that can process decaying meat without getting sick. Their stomachs have strong acids and enzymes that break down bacteria and toxins, allowing them to consume carrion without harm. These adaptations help them survive in their specific ecological niches
I love your channel. That is why I'm reacting to this video to help with the algorithm. But I can't watch this video. Years ago, I was watching a documentary that feature the giant otter and it showed the animal eating poop. That ruined the animal for me. I can't unsee that. So, my friend, I can't take that chance again. 🙂↕
One of the weird things I learnt about butterflies is that their taste buds are in their feet 🦋
Nice vid as always👌
It makes it easier to find the right host plant for your eggs. Well, not your eggs.
Another great video as always!
8:07 I’m scared to ask or even find out what weird and horrible things the Arnie likes to eat……
yeah you don't want to know haha
@@TsukiCove ok now I gotta know……. I must know what the worlds dominant super predator likes to eat that’s gross or unusual…..
“The sloth soon fled after being spotted”
Well that’s not something you would expect to hear haha. I’m guessing it slowly crawled away.
I don't think sloths have a sprint mode. 😄
Great video! Beautiful Arnie 🤗💖

Excellent video 😊
Super cool!
Dung beetle
Literally shocked after seeing this condition of these animals 😞
@TsukiCove, do you think the okapi stands a chance of living and surviving in South America?
Sloths must have learned scat eating from a German expedition.
It's so cute that butterflies drink crocodile and turtle tears.
Wow nature is wierd😊
Yep, you are too.😊

They don't have human brains
Sense of smell is not an absolute, it's not inherently disgusting its our perception
That's some gourmet 💩

I've seen holstien milk cows eat their own afterbirth
Yeah a lot of animals do that to make it harder for predators to find out a baby was born
Deer also to minimize the scent so predators don't smell a dinner.
