Right so calling someone a rude word may not be as big a deal alone. But to call him by his nationality is not clever because what has him being German got to do with it. Also what about the fact his is in a video calling a team shit and then his clown of a friend videoing this saying hate all scousers why is that not spoken about. He should not be allowed anywhere near another LFC game or premier game or even championship. Too much at stake for Clubs to have someone with no integrity refereeing. Sadly he has ruined his career for such a immature thing to do
Now, dermot Gallagher, as said he waved away the mo foul twice. He got it wrong it should have been a red card .but because liverpool scored it saved VAR getting involved. This opens a can of worms .
And Coonte didn't wave 'advantage' as some have said. He waved 'play on'. There's a huge difference because 'play on' indicates he thought there was no foul! Just think if Darwin had missed!
It's not just that he was caught saying that. He also spoke about Liverpool as a team, it comes across as biased. Klopp won't care that some referee thought he was a c**t. He'll probably even joke about it. The thing is, it makes him look biased and that his decisions were based on that bias. It'll call into question loads of decisions he's made against Liverpool. It'll make him look biased and unprofessional.
Rory but it does impact his professionalism, he was on VAR during the highly controversial incidents against Arsenal (Odegaard handball) and City (Doku UFC kick), he didn’t give a blatant penalty against City where that decision could have indeed cost us a title!!! He oversaw Van Dijk’s ACL injury as well. Mate he called Liverpool shit! It’s far worse than just calling Klopp a certain word!
The issue isn't calling Klopp names, the issue is his stated dislike for Liverpool set alongside his record when involved in Liverpool matches shows he can't apply the proper level of impartiality with his biases.
There's no way that anyone will ever quietly accept his decision on controversial calls again going forward. The position of referee requires the perception of unimpeachable integrity and impartiality, and he maintaining that requires that they sack him. What a boneheaded thing to do - a clear and obvious error of every I've seen one. Kinda makes me wonder how he ever got the job with such atrocious decision-making skills. 🤦🏻♂️

Plus the fact he also called Klopp a German C****. Racist as well. If he is able to be racist, why not racist against a city?

@@xxchrisbrahxx Chris, you can be racist towards a black person because black is a race. Nationalities aren't races; you can be judgemental and have preconceived notions about people from specific nationalities, but you can't be racist. Ethnicity is a synonym for race, you just aren't using the words correctly. "If you are racist towards Russians, you are showing hatred towards the Slavic race no?" No, that sentence is oxymoronic . You can't be racist to nationality because you could be an Asian Russian, or a Black Russian. He says German c*nt, the inference can quite easily be a German who happens to be a c*nt. Not someone who is a c*nt, because they are German.
All the videos you pushed out last season about how Liverpool was robbed by VAR, he was the on VAR. He was also VAR when Pickford assaulted VVD. So them comments he makes in the video, do so some bias towards Liverpool.
The argument of what his refs west ham vs brighton just doesn't work because of the potential knock on effects of that result in relation to Liverpool. Even if he didn't let it affect his decision making ever choice would be scrutinized in that lens. unfortunate for him but he could never ref a premier league fixture again.
Coot, Tierney, Taylor, & Darren England.. take'em ALL down! What is the WORST aspect of the premier league? The english refs.. not good enough for the league, time to go.
The reason he won’t ref again isn’t so much the first video, it’s the second. If I’m his lawyer and it’s just the first video, I’m going to argue that my client was blacked out and had no memory of the incident. These opinions are not representative of what my client believes, and that my client immediately called Juergen Klopp to apologise, and further, my client was too drunk to realise he was being filmed. He of course accepts whatever punishment is coming to him, and would like to extend his apology not just to Klopp, but also the great city of Liverpool. However, my client maintains that he would never say those things or think those things in a sober state, which he always was as a referee, he would never allow what were only temporary irritations subsequently smoothed over with Klopp to affect his refereeing. His judgement on the day was poor but he shouldn’t be held to account for what he believed to be private comments made in a severely compromised state. Anyway, the second video nuked all those arguments. It proves: 1. He knew he was being filmed. 2. That he was of sound mind while being filmed. 3. That the things he was saying were inappropriate for him to say as a referee. 4. That if he were caught having said these things, ending his career would be an appropriate punishment. He’s done done.
It's clear he will lose his job over this. Added punishment, would be to send him to Liverpool to serve on a 18 month community service project. That's sure will straighten him out.
The fact is, he's a referee in charge of the outcome of football matches. This PROVES unequivocally that he was biased against at the very least Jurgen Klopp. This is terrible for the PGMOL.
It's not the idiocy of being filmed It's the clear unbiased decisions he made against Liverpool since either by reffing or on VAR take Saturday for instance
I have always said that the REAL PERSON is revealed once they have had one too many to drink. Their attitudes, and their beliefs come to the fore. Drink is the great truth teller. This man should NEVER be allowed to referee again. Also, Liverpool, should look back at the matches he referreed us in. I am sure that we would have a cast-iron case to SUE. Mainly because the decisions he made against us stopped us from winning at least one title.
The wider point has to be that he isn’t a good referee and after this video the amount of decisions he’s influenced against Liverpool is absolutely shocking!!. Genuinely it’s scary the dreadful decisions he’s made affecting the integrity of the competition and the league. Several point swings in title races because of his now admitted bias against Liverpool Football club. Unacceptable. The “German” and “Scouse” comments are utterly unprofessional and would be considered gross misconduct?.
At least once, arguably twice although Liverpool's fall off at the end of last season makes that less of a given, and potentially a third time although without var in 18-19 you don't have the same laser focus on refs so it's hard to say if he nudged that race in City's favor with one or more of his trademark laughable calls. Him, Tierney, and Kavanagh absolutely handed City the 21-22 title with all their ridiculous rulings that season.
Quick reminder this isn't the first times we had a ref in under The Cosh say he didn't give free kicks to Ian Wright and let him get kicked off the pitch because he didn't like how much he moaned
Taking what he said, you also need to look at the decisions that he had the power to give one way or another and either did or didn't give and ask yourself if his bias against Liverpool influenced his decision
He was the VAR on two very dubious decisions the handball against Arsenal and Pickfords assault on Virgil not to mention man city the last game looked like he even wasn't going to give a free kick when Salah taken out it's ok having personal views but not when they sway your impartial stance some of his decisions v Liverpool very dubious
Recorded during a season where his decisions played a big role in the eventual outcome. Saying "we hate scousers and Liverpool" sounds like he had/has an agenda against them.
We can speculate if its just banter and argue free speech, that he shouldn't lose his job because of it but we have to seperate apples from oranges. Coote's not a blue collar worker frustrated over management or a client, he's appears to be a vengeful person in a position of power. If he was just any referee with a decent track record then the video only shows he hates Liverpool and that he is xenophobic *BUT* going back he doesn't have a decent track record, he most certainly had a part in very dubious refereeing.
Btw you cant say "i wont let my personal hate/love affect my decisions", thats not how human bias work. We literally invented the scientific method to counter our human biases. If you want truly fair referring, we need to start getting international ref's that have no investment in any of the english sides.
IMNSHO, there is a big problem with PGMOL being a too cozy club of mates. The VAR offside gaff in the Tottenham-Liverpool proved that they are just not nearly as professional as they should be, and they have been footdragging on VAR training and VAR procedures for years. Brining in top referees from abroad would help de-normalize the laziness.
Umpire performance should be reviewed seasonally for statistical anomalies. Its not good enough to ASSUME that bias isn’t being deliberately acted on.At the very least the impression should be that eyes are on this.

@@bendodsworth2373 Yeah. I think that's likely. But even if you think someone would never do it consciously, they will without knowing it have unconscious bias and that has been proven over and over to affect decision-making in the margins - where games can be easily won and lost.
A ref who can't be trusted to ref a game fairly involving one particular club shouldn't be managing any games. He's done.
His position is now unattainable
It just shows the arrogance of the guy, thinking he could say that while being filmed and it would never come to light, crazy.
Drugs be like that!
I’m an LFC fan. My Mum, her Mum and siblings are Liverpudlians. It’s hurt me and I feel sad about what’s been said about LFC, Liverpool, Klopp etc and I’m not directly involved.
Unprofessional at the very least and now proven bias against LFC. Lost them goals, points & titles not to mention a kind of Racist slur. Awful. 😢
Get a grip
Says "Heighth" as if it's a word.
If he were really professional he wouldn’t have been filmed saying it. This is a severe lack of judgment and highly unprofessional
Drugs do do that...
Rory is a complete and utter tool
This guy hated the club, the manager and the fans and was a referee or assistant referee of so many of our games or games that effected us, it is corrupt it is blatant and you are defending it because it’s Liverpool
Your take on it is awful as usual
Terrible take a complete muppet.
And they said liverpool fans were crazy for thinking the refs were against us. The Rodri Handball, Odegaard handball, Pickford trying to end VVD’s career.
Refs and var officials now need to be accountable for all decisions.
It’s basically an admission of their corruption.
The PGMOL and/or the PL should sue Coote for damages for bringing the game into disrepute. It is not just this incident, Liverpool fans are making lists of the number of times Coote has made serious errors which could affect results, put at risk to players due to injuries, even affect the season outcomes such as league titles. Nobody could ever trust him again.
Too much at stake for
Clubs to have someone with no integrity refereeing. Sadly he has ruined his career for such a immature thing to do
He will never be able to referee again because no one can trust him and without trust referees are nothing.
David coote needs to be fired immediately
Stop saying former... Its massively different.
I don't think Klopp will joke about it. Being called a German c*nt puts a totally different light on the slur.
He looked like he was on drugs he's eyes were glassy
@@user-hp6ls8qy6d Nope. That was charlie for certain.
Tbf knowing you're being recorded and saying something stupid isn't as ridiculous as it sounds. You've made a career out of it Rory
The issue isn't calling Klopp names, the issue is his stated dislike for Liverpool set alongside his record when involved in Liverpool matches shows he can't apply the proper level of impartiality with his biases.
The issue really is about calling Klopp a German c*nt too! It's a racist slur. If I did that on a video the cops would be paying me a visit!
Don’t get filmed calling your boss a twat that’s basically the moral of the story🤷♂️
Why would we need him to ref in the prem again? Sack, replace and move on. He wont be missed...
Still not a deluded as your Brighton take you talking about idiocy is the most hilarious thing I've heard all year
If your views are so bad, then you have got to be biased. And it just so happens Coote has been involved in some of our most controversial incidents. 2 titles lost by a point, and maybe more. Plus the fact he also called Klopp a German C****. Racist as well. If he is able to be racist, why not racist against a city?
I'm a Liverpool fan mate, what are you talking about racism for? German isn't a race it's a nationality and prefixing an insult with their nationality doesn't constitute xenophobia. Turn it in.
@@kwisatzhaderach9087 If you called an Irishman an Irish C***, that is racism no matter what way you try to dress it up. Turn it in yourself mate, alleged Liverpool fan.
@@kwisatzhaderach9087it is though? Are we only going to use race as a classifier for ethnicity? In that case you can't be racist towards black people then...
If you are racist towards Russians, you are showing hatred towards the Slavic race no?
I do agree that repeating a racist line does not make you racist
I agree with the preference thing but not when he clearly hates Liverpool to the point he makes that video out of work hours. 100000% bias towards Liverpool
"If you are racist towards Russians, you are showing hatred towards the Slavic race no?"
No, that sentence is oxymoronic . You can't be racist to nationality because you could be an Asian Russian, or a Black Russian.
He says German c*nt, the inference can quite easily be a German who happens to be a c*nt.
Not someone who is a c*nt, because they are German.
If this is genuine then he has lost all integrity as a referee in the football league.
A total lack of professionalism on his part. Insufficient respect for the game and the league.
It proves:
I wonder what would happen if a manager said that about a ref. PGMOL would go nuts.
He's clearly with someone he trusted, absolute bellend of a so called friend to do that to him.
Doing the game a favour in my opinion. Knowingly or not.
I think you mean clear biased decisions mate. UN-biased means fair decisions.
That wasn't drink mate. That was the old 'charlie' doing the biz...
Not only coote but Liverpool should try to get an independent body that can do investigations on the whole of PGMLO😂
The only reason this is has become as overblown as it is is because it's against Liverpool, and we all know how they LOVE playing the victim card.
The irony to suggest Jurgen Klopp is arrogant is laughable 😂
Coote is responsible for atleast 4 dodgy VAR calls against Liverpool that I'm aware of. The Odergaard basketball moment being one of them.
If he's daft enough to say that on camera, then he's daft enough to think it's ok for him to make unfair decisions against Liverpool
Cant believe there are people saying that his hatred for Klopp would have had no effect on his decision making 🤣
It was the Pickford/VVD issue that was inexcusable-how on earth was that not a red card for goodness sake.
Given how close the premier league standings were in the Klopp era, how often has he cost Liverpool the premier league title?
At least once, arguably twice although Liverpool's fall off at the end of last season makes that less of a given, and potentially a third time although without var in 18-19 you don't have the same laser focus on refs so it's hard to say if he nudged that race in City's favor with one or more of his trademark laughable calls. Him, Tierney, and Kavanagh absolutely handed City the 21-22 title with all their ridiculous rulings that season.
Non
@@Footballslaves256 Take your bias elsewhere. You're no better than this Coote muppet.
Quick reminder this isn't the first times we had a ref in under The Cosh say he didn't give free kicks to Ian Wright and let him get kicked off the pitch because he didn't like how much he moaned
This is why having a stripe and making tictok videos never goes well 😅
Taking what he said, you also need to look at the decisions that he had the power to give one way or another and either did or didn't give and ask yourself if his bias against Liverpool influenced his decision
The problem is, when he said he got his issue with Klopp and some of the decisions they have happened since.
If I did that in my job about my employer saw it, I’d get sacked
He said this back in 2020 and continued to ref with Klopp in charge Rory!!
He goes back to a game in 2020 so holding grudges and he was racist too he called him a German c word.
The Germans are the same race as the british, Caucasian European, so not racist, xenophobic, maybe, but not racist.
Lets not forget he adds a German C U Next Tuesday 👀 Which does a make it a racist statement
The German people are the same as the British people, Caucasian Europeans, so not a racist comment, xenophobic maybe, but not racist.
Every judgment he’s ever made or will ever make will be questioned. In making that video, he removed himself from his job. No one did that to him.
Umpire performance should be reviewed seasonally for statistical anomalies. Its not good enough to ASSUME that bias isn’t being deliberately acted on.At the very least the impression should be that eyes are on this.
The decisions david coote "got wrong" while refereeing all makes sense now..
Would love to hear Jurgen's comments on this - but I will 100p say he will stay professional while being as cheeky as possible LOL
i love how your bias shines bright in this rory. stay classy lad.
