Calling some features on a record a “Big network flex” like the Pain of Truth album wasn’t released on a small indie label that’s maybe five years old is hilarious. It says more about your intelligence than their talents if you really think they “sold in” to a genre with next to no financial benefit or longevity, regardless of what you think of their music.

I thought it was mid overall. "All the riffs sound the same" is kind of a theme with hardcore and I usually don't mind that but even I thought some tracks sounded very similar. IMO only the best of the best can really warrant releasing something longer than like 15 mins, really don't get why some hardcore bands are so intent on releasing full-lengths in 2023, its really not an easy genre to expand on for 25+ mins. That being said, I really like their first EP, the fact that its only 10 mins probably isn't a coincidence.

I completely understand where you’re coming from, I kinda felt this way the first time I listened to this record full way through. But after listening to it more, I have to disagree. In genres like hardcore, there’s a tendency for bands to use the exact same techniques and have the exact same idols, so i guess me getting used to it and kind of enjoying it is likely why I have this bias. Each song packs, a punch that was thrown in the same way, yet still hits me with a great feeling in my chest, knowing that I’m listening to something that I can release my emotions into. I know that I can say this about many other hardcore records, but that’s also another reason why I enjoy this one. You may see it as a negative but I don’t really see it as one, rather I see it as a positive that it’s a continuation of New York hardcores legacy through using old and modern techniques in Hardcore. The whole “we run the streets now.” thing does get kind of cheesy, but I feel like any type of song that has pride in a certain area will tend to come off as cheesy to anybody outside of it. I loved hearing your opinion, and I may agree with you someday, but in the meantime, I’m going to be bumping this record. Subscribed!!

It's not even like a little bit good. It fucking sucks in all honesty. It's basically just slop. Brainless mush I put on for the endorphins....if that's ALL you want....Pain of Truth gets the job done.... but no way in a million years if I were like reviewing music or anything would I ever.... Ever ever ever say that an entire album of that is "good" and bands like this have the shittiest fanbases you are absolutely right about that and you're right to point out that they're basically just trying to skirt around the fact that they're just calling you "gay" as an insult.

Along its Atlantic coast are Jones Beach State Park, Fire Island and Montauk Point State Park, the latter home to the late-1700s Montauk Lighthouse. A similar think happened in my hometown. They played with C4, Restraining Order, Sunami and No Pressure. I was realy hyped about this show. They played as third band on that evening and on the second song of the set the merch guy of C4 knocked a local kid out which wanted to say he should mosh a bit less aggressive. The kid hurt his neck on the edge of the stage and couldn't move for a while. The crowd stopped the show and the C4 guy and POT were very aggressive towards the friends of the kid because they called them out for there behavior and ignorance of the fact that the kid couldn't be moved out of the pit and wanted to continue playing in this situation. An ambulance was called and the promoter had to have himself called a pussies and you argue very hard and long because he didn't want to them to finish their set. Because of all this the sets of Sunami and No Pressure which where my favorites on the bill that evening where cut short in an a way they both played only around 10-15 Minutes. Since than I caned enjoy POT anymore because they don't want to have people having fun on there shows they really want to see blood and they don't respect the local scene but only want everyone to follow their stupid tough guy joke I'm a pseudo gangsta mindset.

It's definitely not punk at least not sonically at all. And THAT is something that does actually annoy me and that's how we get swarms of terminally tough guy hardcore dudes screeching about how Turnstile isn't a real hardcore band because they actually sound like hardcore PUNK music instead of literally just being a budget version of Slipknot.
