Here are somethings to do for Chinese New Year: - clean your house (new slate!) - eat something sweet (start the year with a positive taste in your mouth. Pause) - pray to your ancestors (thank them for their hardship and ask for what you want. Typically ppl ask for health, growth, and fortune. I think where we grew up matters but it's a lot about parenting. I'm Indian but grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Toronto. My parents used to bring me to temple to teach me Hinduism and things people do back in their homeland in Kerala. I was blessed to go visit Indian numerous times too. When I look back I am really grateful as they did a lot of work for me to understand things. They used to take us also to international festivals that happened so we get exposure too and I think it's why I am so open and understanding to other people. :)
