1995, most of that audience wasn't alive then. I was in a car full of friends in San Francisco on the way to an underground rave in a warehouse "rolling balls". Once we arrived at the rave we just sat in the car and listened to the song about 10 times feeling so damn good. I'll never forget that.

Liam doesn’t claim to be a songwriter but he’s come out with the better songs since the split, Beady Eye we’re good and Liams current stuff is good whereas the High Flying Birds is generally very 🥱 and dull. Have a listen to Liam at Knebworth singing ‘All you’re dreaming of’, Liams vocal is awesome, the song is great and Noel didn’t write it, hence Liam doesn’t need Noel, if anything Noel needs Liam to inject some dynamism and attitude into his boring same old same old repertoire.
Honestly if you look back at all his live performances over the years, his vocal control and attention to detail has never been better. He now gives a shit about giving the audience what they came for, and he has the proper vocal techniques to back it up. He sounds better than when he was 25.

As a singer/guitarist I learned Champagne Supernova back in 95' - 96'. At open mics mainly, I mostly play original stuff but if the room is lagging a bit or the energy is not yet unified. I play this song. People fall in to the mantra fast. The show then immediately locks in and its basically magic from there on out. Any big Oasis song works. I do Supersonic (an octave lower), all total miracles at getting people focused and engaged. I still remember hearing this song for the first time in Los Angeles in 1995 on the car radio (KCRW). It was dusk, I was on Franklin Blvd, I'm so grateful to these mad Mancunians -- cheers mates!

As good as Noel is (and I can't ignore his musicianship and writing) ... he just misses the charisma and energy Liam puts out. This makes me smile and emotional every single time. And his voice is still, the voice of my teenage years in the nineties.
I don’t know about that cause I’ve seen Noel make grown men cry when he performs this song. Liam may bring more charisma and excitement but Noel brings a lot more emotion, which I think is really the band in a nutshell. Solo depends what you want.

He does has a certain melancholy in his voice which easily hits a nerve. But overall... his solo work (in a live setting, not talking about the albums as such) does leave a lot to be desired.

As good as Noel is (and I can't ignore his musicianship and writing) ... he just misses the charisma and energy Liam puts out.
This makes me smile and emotional every single time. And his voice is still, the voice of my teenage years in the nineties.
I don’t know about that cause I’ve seen Noel make grown men cry when he performs this song. Liam may bring more charisma and excitement but Noel brings a lot more emotion, which I think is really the band in a nutshell. Solo depends what you want.
@@BenjaminDaCunha-ys8ty agree to a certain degree... I also shed a tear with Noel, but he rarely (to my opinion) has these moments in his solo work. He does has a certain melancholy in his voice which easily hits a nerve. But overall... his solo work (in a live setting, not talking about the albums as such) does leave a lot to be desired.
@@BenjaminDaCunha-ys8tyagree with this. Liam is a boost of confidence, makes you want to go out and be the MAN. In the otherhand Noel indeed can make a grown man cry, he is way of singing is so emotional and melancholic, it really stirs your soul. Two extremely different ways of singing a song.
Noel with just an acoustic guitar can make something powerful, I don’t think Liam can do that nor too many people that walks on this earth
