OMG!!!! stryper never ever played so fast!!! what a comeback to the 80s!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you sweet!!! he said that the fans asked him for more guitars and screming old style..this is it! this band has listened to his fans' voice! rock on
Thanks for share this song :) "♫ ... I want to make a difference I want my life make some sense ... ... What is destiny? To Live and Love and Die Honorably So I'll trade My Eclipse for The Son ... ♫"
When Stryper reformed I'm sure the brothers were both willing to take it on or they never would have come back. Murder By Pride saw many delays due to Michael touring with Boston and dealing with his wife's situation. I'M sure Rob wasn't just gonna sit around and wait for his brother so he committed to other projects and it was those committments that led to his absence. The reason we can be sure of this fact is because he's part of the tour. Stryper was started by Robert Sweet it's his band.
Não estamos mais nos anos 80, estamos em 2009! Por isso não fico esperando que o Stryper vá fazer algo datado, só espero que continuem mandando ver no rock n roll... e é isso que felizmente eles estão fazendo! Striper is the rock that makes me roll!!!
"it doesn't sound like the 80's Stryper anymore". Ummm that's because it's NOT the 80's anymore! Yes I understand that some people still live in the 80's but not everyone is stuck in one time period and un-able to move on. Stryper are living, breathing, creative artists that express part of who they are through the music that they present to the world. If you find that one of their songs isn't so much a style you can get in to, well there are plenty of other songs and their older work you can listen to. Stryper might have been categorized as "glam metal", "hair metal", "heavy metal", but they truly weren't 100% of any of those categories. Stryper has always had trashy/punk elements to their style, as well as other influences. As living, breathing, creative artists, they will constantly be changing and trying new things. If you respect them, and/or any of their previous music then try to respect them as artists as well. They deserve that much.
i bought the cd same day it's comes out....it just amazing and yes 3 or 4 songs sound like michael sweet solo but HE WROTE ALL THE SONGS. see you in FORT LAUDERDALE miami FL at CULTURE ROOM it will be amazing...
LOL does not look like tiger woods...glad to see a new album out...I am not religious but i love metal and these guys kick ass! I have Stryper and Slayer albums. I have a disc in my car that alternates song between the two bands. "Praise Jebuss" (Homer Simpson)
It's not bad. I don't think they'll ever be able to top "To Hell With the Devil." That album was simply flawless. I caught Stryper in Pittsburgh in 2003 during their reunion tour, they were amazing, I can't believe Michael's voice has held up so well over all those years. A lot of Metal singers tend to lose their original impact or tone after belting out such piercing high notes after a while.
This song rocks and Michael's voice is as strong as ever.Stryper still kick arse. Like saying Metallica have changed since Puppets. Can't a band grow ?
You got me, but now I feel stupid for asking people to message me because I am getting bombarded with requests asking why Robert Sweet didn't play on the album. Supposedly, the reason I claim to know is not the right reason afterall.
flakotellz: The meaning of the song s about his decision to live for the Lord. Tired of wasting his life and living for himself. "So I'll trade my eclipse for the son.: "I want to make a difference. I want my life to make some sense. Cause when it's all over I know I have to answer for myself". "To live and die honorably".
I do not know who is Tiger Wood, but a thing I know, this face in the layer is the proper creator of the layer, seems that it made a high-picture (Gilvan) there is a picture w w w styrer net/ /index.php?s=gilvan&x=11&y=6
It was Robert who didn't play on the album. I know the real reason why he didn't play on Murder By Pride, but a guy who is personal friends with them asked me not to say why. If you want to know, send me a personal message and I'll tell you.
@semitar6 Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say old Stryper was heavy. Overall the new albums ARE softer than the 80's albums though. But that's not the point, the point is that the song structure and the style of new Stryper ain't like traditional heavy metal at all. The 80's albums, while some songs were soft, were still what people call 'heavy metal'. This music is AOR (adult oriented rock?), pop-rock and stuff. It has got almost nothing to do with the heavy metal genre anymore.
Yeah, I like this song, but true its punkish. I just cant wait to hear 4 leaf clover and Murder by pride songs...those clips sounded most like classic stryper
@snuffereet ya dude i listen to this cd yesterday and i was like, fater, better, green day with good solos and real vocals lol, just for this song though.
Great new stuff from my fav band, but I am quite honest and blunt, and I will say that it is total bullshit that Robert didnt play on this album. It is not Stryper without Robert involved. To me it is just another Michael Sweet solo cd. No offense by it, but I know that Mike likes to control what is being played for the most part, which to me isnt a band!!!! Just my opinion, and they know that from the forum. Still love them
What has that to do with anything? I've loved Stryper with a passion since 1986 but hated the Michael Sweet solo albums and now he turned his solo career into 'Stryper'. This is so soft and doesn't sound like the 80's Stryper nor like Against the Law. I know no other 80's band that changed their style so drastically in a bad way.
Sux. What happened to the Soldiers, To Hell With the Devil and Against the Law super music? Stryper made fools of themselves by releasing two Michael Sweet solo albums.
OMG!!!! stryper never ever played so fast!!!

LOL does not look like tiger woods...glad to see a new album out...I am not religious but i love metal and these guys kick ass! I have Stryper and Slayer albums. I have a disc in my car that alternates song between the two bands. "Praise Jebuss" (Homer Simpson)
I remember after the band broke up when their drummer was hawking his drum set on the internet.. They have come a long way back.

are you gonna upload the second release?... i really hope so... here in peru we have no itunes music store... i tried to buy it and i couldnt =(
This song in a lot of ways reminds me of some recent Iron Maiden album openers.
different world
este nuevo disco de stryper esta muy bueno (Y)
muito doido
hel yeah styper
Why would they care if you posted the reason?
What do you mean Michael didn't play on the album? I am confused? Is he still in the band?
You forgot to add to the end of your comment "... 'CUZ "STONE COLD" SAID SO!"
@semitar6

Yeah, I like this song, but true its punkish. I just cant wait to hear 4 leaf clover and Murder by pride songs...those clips sounded most like classic stryper
@semitar6
lol you can't be very familiar with Stryper if you think Murder by Pride is their best album LOL!
@snuffereet ya dude i listen to this cd yesterday and i was like, fater, better, green day with good solos and real vocals lol, just for this song though.
what is the meaning of this song?
i like it, catchy, not as metal as i would have hoped tho :( i like bread
stryper
That does look like Tiger Woods. (or it will when he sees what his divorce will cost him.)
Anyway, this song rocks.
sorry but slimebeast is bang on right its not stryper its michael sweet s solo albums repeated cant beat calling on you etc
I'm sorry but I dont remember the 80's Stryper being that "heavy"...??? If their 80's music was your idea of heavy...then you dont know heavy...
That music you love so much there slimebeast some of MICHEAL SWEETS best work so next commeant please.
@mbm13213 I know what you mean. God has a plan for all of us but I think the angels keep mislaying the files.
This song isn't "horrible", but it kinda sounds like something Green Day would do, except with a better vocalist!
stryper goes punk ? )))

Is that Tiger Woods or Obama on the cover? jw.
Sux.
What happened to the Soldiers, To Hell With the Devil and Against the Law super music?
Stryper made fools of themselves by releasing two Michael Sweet solo albums.
Green Day??? Are you deaf?????
man i love stryper
But this new stuff just sounds punkish and modern :( not like the classic stryper
@snuffereet and a better guitarist
