Please Regis. Revisit the Cerebro 7 deck you did earlier but with Wiccan, Ebony Maw, War Machine and Steggron. I believe Wiccan and War Machine could add more consistency to that deck.
@Warcrie I did this with Cannonball instead of Maw and it ran fairly good. I did find I needed Luke Cage to run it though. The beauty of this deck is you don't have to worry about the energy spent as much.
Seems like the kind of card that is absolutely cracked if you get your perfect draw, but is so vulnerable to so many things going wrong so as to be pretty bad. Which is to say every time your opponent will have it perfectly and you'll be upset.
I really like the intro with you learning the new card, into the highlight reel. I think it's incredibly informative, and you're such a wealth of knowledge about Snap. I really enjoy your perspective on card games and how you think about them and cards.
31:00 I usually throw in Super Skrull if I'm expecting a lot of mirror matches. My Zoo deck has two Kazars, two Blue Marvels, random Caieras(THANKS I CUT HER). I would assume that Tribunal player has him teched in for the same reason, probably only played it because you had the Onslaught out.
The 1k compensation is so bad. On the Hawk/Beta Ray one i got Beta Ray on the random s4 or 5 after getting him. Out of all the cards i dont have from s4/5 (which are a lot) i had to get the one thats on the cache. Honestly it should be 3k tokens for s4 and 6k for s5 as thats their price.
Great video as always Regis! There were multiple games where you could have played Wave (and sometimes something else too) on 5 and then played two six drops on turn 6. Would have upped total power and gives real surprise factor.
What about a bounce deck with Wiccan, and maybe a 1 or 2 6-drops? They tend to be pretty cheap decks so in theory you should be able to hit your curve easily?

Wiccan is insane in high evo with quicksilver, domino, magic, cyclops, and zabu. You almost always land Wiccan without issue, and the extra energy can go towards high evo cyclops plays or sunspot/hulk/she hulk/and abomination plays. Turn turn 2 zabu leads to turn 3 Wiccan and that gets out of hand fairly quickly.
In my first wiccan deck I run arnim zola, I already had one game with 12 energy turn 6. I didn't intend to zola the wiccan when I built my deck, but it worked out that way in that game.
I think Wiccan is good in a Silver Surfer deck where you just have a bunch of three drops to play on 4, 5, and 6 with all of your energy. I've been running QS, Nova, Domino, Wiccan, and a bunch of 3 drops (Nocturne, Shaw, Brood, Surfer, Copy Cat, etc). So far it's doing great.
Agreed, this is where my mind went with Wiccan. You really don't care what your 1 and 2 drops are so can reasonably run QS and Domino, then your deck will just be 3 drops with maybe some 4 drops thrown in so you're almost always gonna hit your t3 drop. Does make you less likely to draw wiccan...but if you don't draw him then you're drawing into surfer cards.
@@at0mly My deck at the moment is QS, Domino, Brood, Surfer, Crystal, Coulson, Summers, Copycat, Loki, Gladiator, Lad, and Wiccan. It's been pretty fun so far. Loki on 3 with Wiccan in hand has been pretty powerful so far. Actually getting good use out of Crystal too.
Try Wiccan on High Evo. Hear me out, when you are able to Wiccan on 3 or 4, the excess energy is not used anyways so it can be use to power-up Evo Cards, but if you Wiccan't tempo him out then it still fine because it's what the deck strive to do, so either you are able to play him or not is a win-win for the deck.
I would change domino and copycat for iron lad and jubilee to further search for that wiccan and provide Zabu more value, maybe even change the 6 drops for Arnim Zola/Odin that way sometimes you hit Jubilee into Zola into 2 more cards.
I was thinking a deck with energy sinks to make full use of the +2 max energy. Just because the +2 energy is almost useless otherwise. With sunspot/havok/magik you can soak up the excess energy. By overdosing on 2s you're almost guaranteed a play on 2. Kate sets up a 1 to go along with another 2 on turn 3. Late game moon girl/she hulk/infinaut gives an explosive finish. Another version bouncing wiccan with beast/toxin instead of late game would be hilarious to go with all that extra energy soaking. Biggest issue is going all in on a single card is never consistent.
I have had the most success with wiccan in a agents of shield style deck where I run quinjet alongside a ton of ones that generate cards and then a ton of two drops that generate cards plus zabu pyslock in the whole deck there is only 3 cards that cost more then 2 wiccan agent colsen and devil dinnasuar the goal is to always be drawing a curve up to turn 3 with a solid chance to cheat wiccan out turn 3 and alot of the time if you Miss you have colsen to bridge the gap and then you have quinjet discount and wiccan energy to flood the board with generated cards
I wonder how wiccan will work in an Agatha shell since that deck is all about trying to hard manipulate your luck in order to either cheat Agatha out early or play on curve always and I feel Wiccan being that big 4/7 that lets Agatha come down on 5 might be big.

I feel like in the 2 Alioth game, even without hindsight, it would have been better to play Ultron mid/left. You would have had 38 points right and he had 10 before the last turn. It would have been unlikely for him to play 28 with 2 cards and it would have guaranteed you a win right and either mid or left.
My first two games with Wiccan had Tinkerer's in both and Super Flow in the first. The fourth game I got the nut-draw and case Rulk, Squatch and Skaar on Baxter just to flex.
man, that second game would've been completely fine next month (when zabu inevitably becomes an activate card) because you could've waited to activate zabu's effect

I dont think playing wiccan in ramp is his best deck. I think he excels with more card generation options alongside other cards that can help control your energy. I found hes great with loki and agent Coulson. Also you want magik to really make use of the extra energy and prevents the T5 sandman lockout
i think quicksilver is mandatory, but domino is still a no go. the psylocke/zabu package is more than enough. instead, running crystal or even just a stat drop like maximus would be better imo
@thomasmartin1514 cable or Maria hill are much better in place of domino I agree. I only don't like mirage because of it always recieving a low cost card that might not fit the curve of playing a card on three. But if it works for you keep at it

I feel like 4 “enablers” (Silver, Psylocke, Zabu, Domino) is too much wasted space in a deck. Having just Domino as a 2-drop and a few powerful 1 drops (which are good by themselves, not as Wiccan enablers, like Nico) is probably enough.
I fine with this month being some meh looking cards. I can stockpile keys. Even if Wiccan is "good" He just doesn't seem like a card I would enjoy playing. Too similar to Pixie or Mr. Negative where the deck pops hard if you hit but sometimes you just are a straight up dud.
I'm sitting here wondering how people are getting these cards day one. I couldn't get Marvel boy.... and I don't see myself being able to get this card. mind you I don't have a super high collection level... mostly because credits are so limited.
Ok, just a couple of thoughts how I went about trying to napkinmath evaluate wiccan. lets start with the payoff side, assuming you play him on turn 4 that gives you a 7 energy turn 5 and a 8 energy turn 6. Right off the bat, that gave me the gut feeling that trying to get a payday via 6-cost cards wont workout, because then you would only get to utilize your energy fully in combination with a 1 or 2 cost card, respectively - which you would not want to have any of which in your deck if you go down to quicksilver/domino route. Alternative combinations would be 3+4 cost plays on turn 5, and either 3+5 or 4+4 on turn 6. Next step, what kind of deck could utilize any of those combinations? my intial guess, silver surfer. loading your deck up with plenty of 3cost cards also minimizes the chance of ruining wiccan by missing a 3 on turn 3 (in regis deck in this video, with quick/domino in deck as well as three 3costs, you will break wiccan due to not having a 3cost on turn 3 16% of games). So id try a silver surfer shell, with quicksilver and domino for a starter, and for the payoff turns aiming for wong into a 3 on turn 5 followed by another 3 plus a 5 on turn 6. this would give surfer decks interesting new options to lay with, for example by making the wong lane itself - usually the weakest one at the end of a game - much more beefy by last playing a 5 like ironman, gilgameh or sersi - or goiung in the opposite direction by supercharging the other two lanes by playing misery into the wong lane, doubling up on surfer /ironheart etc once misery is released.
Deck kind of just seems like electro would be better than Wiccan in that brew lol. Wiccan seems better to run card generation stuff so you have more energy to dump on 4/5/6. Maria hill also I think is better than domino. You can play her on 1 into the 2 and then quicksilver and a 2 on 3 pretty consistently
Well it’s way too early to say it needs a buff. Rather, nobody gets Wiccan then next week someone finds a great deck that works with him. It’s just a matter of finding the right deck.
He’s good in conquest. Not really in cube games. Your problem is putting quicksilver and domino in the same deck. Keep domino but replace a 1 with Snow Guard. You’re guaranteed to play a 3 cost card plus domino on turn 2. Personally I put him in a build with squirrel girl and marvel boy. I think people see extra energy and assume to just put so many 6 cost cards in a deck. It’s about spreading out your power, not plopping big numbers because that can be easily countered.
Hey, a question: How come you don't play with variants cards? Is it because it's easier to make thumbnails/people recognize the cards easier, or do you simply just like the base cards? Either way, it feels like a power move, not gonna lie haha. Keep up the good work!
While he does use variants occasionally, his official comment on it was that he wants it to be easy for people with only a small amount of familiarity with the game to easily recognize the cards, just make it that little more accessible.

Similar to my deck I'm running Havok since playing Havoc after Wiccan doesn't hurt you on energy. My deck also runs Red Hulk as well.

It’s infuriating playing my own similar Wiccan deck today and seeing how much better Regis’ curve was than mine. Wiccan blew for me

He is a 4/7, so even if I were to miss the extra energy, in something like a big stats deck, I don’t think I’d be that upset honestly

Alternative combinations would be 3+4 cost plays on turn 5, and either 3+5 or 4+4 on turn 6.
Next step, what kind of deck could utilize any of those combinations? my intial guess, silver surfer. loading your deck up with plenty of 3cost cards also minimizes the chance of ruining wiccan by missing a 3 on turn 3 (in regis deck in this video, with quick/domino in deck as well as three 3costs, you will break wiccan due to not having a 3cost on turn 3 16% of games).
So id try a silver surfer shell, with quicksilver and domino for a starter, and for the payoff turns aiming for wong into a 3 on turn 5 followed by another 3 plus a 5 on turn 6. this would give surfer decks interesting new options to lay with, for example by making the wong lane itself - usually the weakest one at the end of a game - much more beefy by last playing a 5 like ironman, gilgameh or sersi - or goiung in the opposite direction by supercharging the other two lanes by playing misery into the wong lane, doubling up on surfer /ironheart etc once misery is released.
Deck kind of just seems like electro would be better than Wiccan in that brew lol. Wiccan seems better to run card generation stuff so you have more energy to dump on 4/5/6. Maria hill also I think is better than domino. You can play her on 1 into the 2 and then quicksilver and a 2 on 3 pretty consistently

Well it’s way too early to say it needs a buff. Rather, nobody gets Wiccan then next week someone finds a great deck that works with him. It’s just a matter of finding the right deck.
He’s good in conquest. Not really in cube games. Your problem is putting quicksilver and domino in the same deck. Keep domino but replace a 1 with Snow Guard. You’re guaranteed to play a 3 cost card plus domino on turn 2. Personally I put him in a build with squirrel girl and marvel boy. I think people see extra energy and assume to just put so many 6 cost cards in a deck. It’s about spreading out your power, not plopping big numbers because that can be easily countered.
And if snowguard isn't in hand? Quick silver and domino are more consistent and you have 3 pulls to get a 3 cost card to play on round 3

Hey, a question: How come you don't play with variants cards? Is it because it's easier to make thumbnails/people recognize the cards easier, or do you simply just like the base cards? Either way, it feels like a power move, not gonna lie haha. Keep up the good work!
While he does use variants occasionally, his official comment on it was that he wants it to be easy for people with only a small amount of familiarity with the game to easily recognize the cards, just make it that little more accessible.
